Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

Is anyone on their low fat pre op diet yet , that's going out in a few weeks? I am looking to start mine next week, but am trying to cut down now to get myself ready for it!

Hi Penny, I made a start on my low fat diet last week (easing myself into it!), my 2 weeks start after this weekend. Finding breakfast and lunch easy, but dinner harder as I prefer Atkins (low carb) to low fat diet. :blushing: Will be making a real effort though if it makes the op safer.

Is anyone else going out on the 22nd June for an op on the 23rd?

Im going out on the 25th for op on the 26th maybe see you at the hotel. Jeez are you getting scared:drool:

suefee, welcome back! well done, your now on the other side! glad it all went well, and yes get plenty of rest.x hi homecare, the hospital gowns are diferent to ours and fasten with poppers down the sides and over the shoulder, your bum isnt exposed!youl be ok. you can take your phone in and use it on the ward too i was texting everyone! nobody shut up talking on my ward so didnt have time to read..or even sleep! x sammy, sorry im a bit late but have a great holiday! x freckles OMG!! i am in awe with your computer skills..did you read that post where i said it took me three lessons on a course to learn how to switch the thing on?! durr!

:redface:x everyone else have a great weekend x

Take extra t bags and large mug with you to belgium they only have tiny plastic cups, windeze gels sweets are good and I used these post op. If you do use the hospital dispersable tabs they give you to come home disolve them in quite hot water and allow to cool, they are much better than if you try to take them fizzy with cold water. I also took sachets of drinking choc (options ). I would also buy at least 2X 1 ltr bottles of still water after you have passed through customs this side and take these onto the ward with you.

You may need extra bed pillows after the op the room maid will get them for you but it may be better to get them before your op just in case.

Welcome back Suefee, take it easy for a while now, hope your not too sore and will look forward to your report.

Not feeling too bad cos it doesn't feel real yet. I know I'll be terrified when the time gets closer.

Been reading through the thread for advice today, have to remind myself to be realistic about this. Sometimes I think the op will be the hard bit and the weight will just melt away afterwards - ffs! :blushing:

I'm trying to expect the worst (usually works for me) and be prepared for a long hard slog afterwards. I'm sure it will be a battle convincing my head about the right amount to eat and dealing with 'head hunger'.

When i went for my pre op evaluation the night before surgery dr chris gave this whole speach about the different bands he might use on the day depending on what he thought would be best. However i dont think that anyone on here has a different band to the ones mentioned by gillian. From this thread its obvious that the aftercare offered is not the best but i do agree that the care given in belgium is fantastic. I think the main problem is that they need to employ someone else as frederick cant handle the amount of aftercare patients they have, if they had another member of staff maybe he would be able to spend more than 5 mins with each person which is reasonable if you are giving them £90! The needles and specialist water only cost me about £200 and i have 100 enough to last the rest of my life!!

Hi Carriejess, you mention needles and specialist water. Does this mean you can do your own fills?

HI ALL and thanks for all the good wishes HOMECARE i was very up and down like all of us before hand, but everything went smoothly they new at the hotel i was there for surgery when i booked in they told me Fredrick would be here to see me later which he did and explained what was going to happen and then he came to the room and took the money . i had to be at the hospital for 7am and the was allocated a room with another lady who was having the opp after the blood checks and cardio gram i went down at around 12.30 and i was back in recovery for 2.30 as there was a bit of a wait before i was took into the theater i was in recovery for 1 hour then went back to the ward stayed in bed until the next morning the nurse came to show me how o do my injections in my tummy which is easy when i was given some water a little later i was able to go to the loo at lunch i was given soup and crackers and tea then Dr Chris came to see us all who had been banded to give us all the info and a book after i had an x ray to see if all was well and then i had all the drips taken away and was discharged with a pack of stuff to take home if you wat to no anythig else please ask xxsuefeexx

Hi pixie your right it is a bit of a slog, i think we all expect the weight to fall off us after our band.. you still have to work at it and watch what you eat but once you get your head around it it gets easier x
