Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi

I have decided to get the procedure done - just have to save up for it. I live in uk and want to go to Brussels as it seems cheapest and safest there. Anyone know of the above?

Thanks

Hi shoes,

Thank you for replying to my quote! I have booked my op for the 17th March. The only emotion I feel at the moment is 'peace'! At last it's sorted! No more decisions! No more GP referrals! No more waiting lists! No more pleading!..............

Hi fatpants and welcome to the forum, i think gillian has covered the cost of the band, i went with the same option as gillian and bigsister and we had to sort out our own flights, transfers and hotel so being honest i think the all inc option is the better one. Im sure you will find this forum a massive help and everyone here is friendly and ready to answer any questions you might have, you will have no regrets if you decide to go with dr chris and his team, the hospital was very clean and staff couldnt do enough for you. Goodluck x :)

Thank you wishful for answering my quote. I have booked my op with Dr Chris, it's on the 17 march. I can't wait and I am so happy! Did you go by your self or did you bring someone with you. At the moment I am going alone, I thought it easier as we have 5 young kids to organise! Fatpants

Hi fatpants. Pleased to hear you have booked your surgery. My partner didn't go with me but I went with my sister who had her band fitted on the same day and her husband was there so I wasn't really on my own. I know there are some people on this forum who have been completely on their own and have been fine but if you can possibly get someone to go with you, I would definitely recommend it. As wishfull has suggested, could a member of the family or a friend go with you? Bigsister x

awww well done to you all your doing fab, the full cost for hotels etc sounds like a good price and the euro is finally starting to creap up again its at 1.06 round here now which is obviously good news for me then hopefully wont be long till im there and telling my tale lol one last question (for now :0) are any of you craving the things that you used to eat... all the sweets chocolate cakes anything really?????? take care all x x x x

Hi tanyac. Like wishfull, I haven't been particularly craving anything I might have before - I have still got my birthday box of Thorntons Continentals here intact (thanks for those son?!). In fact, altho I am still on very limited foods and not having that much of them, I can honestly say I haven't felt that hungry. Have you got an approx date/month in mind now when you think you will be able to book? Will keep fingers crossed for you that it will be soon. Take care, bigsister x

Hi flirtylass CONGRATULATIONS on getting a decent fill and i hope you have got to your "sweet spot" at long last.. Maybe frederik has read this forum and seen people wasnt happy with the way they were being treated when going for a fill. Im thinking about going for my 1st one on the 12th, i didnt think id be ready but i have no pain as such even when i put pressure on the port area, i was nervous about going after reading the not 'so good reports' but after your msg today it has made me feel easier about going x:smile:

Hey flirtylass, really pleased for you that at last you feel as if you have a positive result from the fill - you've certainly been waiting a while haven't you? Glad your appointment went well and you didn't need to battle to get what you wanted. Your weight loss so far has been great just on your own will power and so you should be flying after this! Let us have updates soon as to how your progress is going - and carry on the good work on the treadmill! Bigsister x

Dear Tanyac,

I e-mailed Frederik and asked him for the basic price of the op 3700 Euros. There package deal is very reasonable, 4070 leaves 370 for the hotel and taxis. I priced the taxis and the Hotel Campanile in Vilvoorde and it basically come to 370 Euros, but I found a web site that was giving a 30% discount on the hotels and I only booked for 2 nights as I'm going alone I don't need the room the night I'm in hospital. The guy in the Hotel Campanile said if you take a particular taxi and tell the driver Hotal Campanile 19 Euros, it should cost 19 instead of 26 Euros. All in all I'm only saving £125, but for me this is a lot as my flight are cost £300 return. I saw return flight from Heathrow to Brussels for £80, unfortuneately it cost too much for me to get to Heathrow! I think the package deal offered by the clinic is best for peace of mind, especially if you are not familiar with going abroad! I've lived abroad in many different countries and I also speek French so I am confident I'll be ok!!!!!

Hi Wishful i really think you'l be grand to go on the 12th and i think you'd regret waiting til march but thats my opinion its just i think its a long enough process waiting for restriction theres no point in adding a extra month if u feel ok and im much happier today and very thankful to fred for giving me 1ml cos i feel i really needed it he said it wasnt good enough that i have no restriction and decided to give me the ml so lets hope it treats me well

Oh thanks bigsister dont worry il keep u well updated lol im actually up on the scales today by 3lbs but dont know why but sure we'l see how things go during the week!!!

yes yes yes!!!!!!..i am craving chocolate like mad as i did before band...i have been having a hot chocolate drink at night which does help...but chocolate does go down very easily!..so you have to be strict with yourself still!.i have just had oxtail soup which was crap..i looked on tin (heinz) and it was full of carrots..and down the list of ingredients at the bottom it says..oxtail 1%...!!..whats that all about then!? it was horrible..also tried a bit of french bread...and it tells you in your band instructions not to...and it nearly killed me, it got so stuck!..that will teach me! I am now craving king prawns..so would appreciate it if any older bandster has tried these?..i get fresh ones from fishmonger that are grey and grill em..any tips before i just go out and buy some anyway ...(then ill find out!)

wishfull, yes i had the yellow fish and poached egg, it went down lovely!..the petit pois did also, but only had one fork of mash, that got stuck a bit so i left it..let us know if you go for your fill in feb then wont you! im feeling enough restriction now so dont want anymore yet..i know it does loosen off though, so im going march 17th now. x

:bananalama: hi flirtylass!..im so pleased you had a good fill!..you got what you wanted at last..hopefully it will last you quite a while this one!..you have done really well, and i hope i do as well as you!.i bet youll be down at your target by summer, or sooner if you dust that treadmill down LOL! and thats good news for you too, about the unfill nurse, it will put your mind at rest. x
