Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

Hi Flirtylass

I got to the hospital at 7:00am. Booked in and was taken to my room. I was told to put on the gown and socks (yes they are big, I was worried about that too lol). I had an ECG and blood test straight away which were fine. I was second in line for the op so didnt have to wait too long but it depends on how many ops he has booked for that day as one lady had her band fitted about 5-6 hours after me.

Hi Flirtylass

Yes you do share a room at the hospital which I was a bit worried about as I snore rather loudly lol but the two women I shared with snored too so it was okay. Dont worry about sharing a room you will be with another English female and its always good to compare notes on how you are feeling. We had a giggle actually and was told to be quiet by the nurses.

Dont worry about asking questions. Feel free to ask anything you want.

Hi English Rose & Everhopeful,

Just to say hello, and hope you are both feeling well after your recent surgery! I was banded just a week before you and still think it is the best thing I have ever done. Also wanted to wish Flirtylass & Bubble all the best for their up-coming surgeries.

By the way Flirtylass, do you think you could let me have Frederik's email address & phone number as I've mislaid the card he gave me with them on? I'd be most grateful, if you could.:confused2:

All the best, Kath.:mad2::huh2:

Hi Mooster

Thanks for your lovely message.

I too think its the best thing I have ever done. I wish I had done it years ago. Is is just me who thinks this or is Frederick absolutely gorgeous. I nearly said you have seen me practually naked, how about returning the favour but thought better of it lol.

I havent felt hungry since being banded. I know its only been 5 days but I love this band already.

Take care

EnglishRose

Hi Kath

Yes your right Dr DeBruyne wasn't bad either. I could get my fills in the hospital just down the road from me cheaper than going to Wimpole Street but it will be worth paying the extra just to see them both again. lol

Hi EnglishRose,Have you booked a date for your 1st fill yet? I've booked for Sept 18th in London,as it's the next available one, and I will have had my band for 6 weeks by then. Then,by the time I need my next fill, they will have hopefully opened their office's in Manchester, which they said they would be doing around Oct!Bye for now, Kath.:mad2::smile:

Hi Mooster

No I havent booked a fill yet. I think I will wait a week or so before booking it. If I go on the 18th September I would only have been banded for just over 4 weeks so not sure if I will wait until the October date but it will all depends on how hungry I get once I have healed completely.

Hi,

I got banded by Dr. De bruyne in 2006 in Brussels. He's is a really nice person and put me at ease straight away when I saw him in Edingbrugh for my consultation. The hospital where my op was carried out was also nice and clean, the staff were friendly and everything was explained to me so I knew every stage of my op and recovery. Dr. De bruyne has carried out thousands of lap bandings and is highly recomended. He speaks very good english and you can even contact him by telephone if you have any concerns.

I hope this puts your mind at rest and reasures you that you have made a good decision in choosing him.

I´m sitting here giggling like mad about the eye candy compliments paid to Fredrik and both Nurse Chris and Dr Chris. I know that Fredrik on this forum....I bet he will love reading this....hahahaha!!

I agree though, they´re all good looking guys and as English Rose mentioned it´s not fair that they have seen us not just naked but the iside of us too...ewwww, that´s a nasty thought....lol

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
