Hi wishfull and sammy you both have done brilliant so far please dont worry bout the standstill in the weeks after my op i had a standstill for about 3weeks then gained a lb the following week i think this is normal and part of the healing process also before u have a few fills people usually find the loss slows right down

I am pleased with the weight loss i have had so far but i just wish it would start moving again.. even if it was only a lb i would now it was still going down, and it will take me into another stone lol, It's just because it hasn't moved for about 5 weeks and that's a long time. The last couple of days i have started eating more as i don't think i have been eating enough, since i have eaten more i haven't had ANY trapped wind.. when we were out walking sunday the pain in my shoulder going up to my neck was unbearable at times but as soon as we got back to the car and i had something to eat the pain went x

Hi gillian, Hows your restriction now? has your weight moved any? x

still have the restriction..im getting used to it now though, and eating accordingly ie. eating slower, chewing more and not as much on my plate..i am mushing up or pureeing stuff too..im still in the frame of mind that im not gonna have a fill next week, but ill see how it goes..i think i have lost summat this week..a couple of pounds at the least..but ill let you know on tues after my next fill..as i am going with what their scales say..that pain in my shoulder has disappeared too..i wonder if its owt to do with the weather being warmer?..i wonder if it was cold while you were walking or you were tensing up a bit?..cos it disappeared when you got in the car didnt it?..oh, i dunno! but it seems like we get it bad and we have both had broken collar bones!. lets hope that this next fill will get you moving again..it was my 3rd and it def did summat to me. x

It wasnt cold, it was nice and sunny and i didnt even have to wear my jacket, i do think some of it was because i was only having liquids in the day and 'normal' food later and maybe gary was right that i wasnt loosing weight because i wasnt eating enough.. o well i'll just see how i go x

Hi flirty, I've just been looking at a poll on here called 'whats your sweet spot in a 10cc band' There is so much difference between the amount of fill some people have its a revelation from as little as no fill to 11ml (dont know how they fit 11ml in 10ml band tho) its worth a read when you've a quiet 5 mins, and you will also see you are quite normal or average with the amount of fill you have.

Gillian, acording to this poll you have reached the holy grail and long may it last, you should now expect a faster weight loss, I'm so pleased for you.

i know, it sounds daft that, but its true, sometimes if your not eating enough, it can slow or stop your weight loss. maybe it was just cos you were having just drinks then?..perhaps its summat to do with the acids in the stomach producing gas if were not eating too much or summat?!..maybe, we'll never know?! it is a mystery! x

hey Mmm, that sounds interesting!..where do i find this poll?!youll have to give me instructions as im rubbish on computer!. wendy did say that she could now feel the pressure as the band was tightening...before i got to 5.25ml..she said it was just filling the tube..like a flat bike tyre being pumped up..so it is now officially..under pressure!.bigsister has the same as me in but shes not got the restriction i have yet...but suppose i have much more fat around my stomach for the band to tighten up around as im more than 3 stone heavier than her..and that is why you can lose your sweet spot as the fat goes from between the band and stomach..and you have to have fills after losing more weight. x

I only found it by accident, but I found it very interesting. good luck. mmm

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
