.just a quick one before kids hog the computer for the rest of the day!(still five n a half weeks of hol to go:cursing:!!) well just had another quick skim thro...so sorry if i have missed any birthdays:sad:..but hope you have or had great days!!. sorry if i have missed any questions too, its nowt personal! Bev,the ride incident.. its crap, and i can understand you laughing it off, but i know very well how you felt inside! and that incident with the plane seatbelt was so awful, but wasnt justice done with the duty free bottles!!.i hope those three women sat opposite get very fat when theyre older!!. but we who know would never be that shallow enough to laugh..we will have empathy and understanding, which will make us better people than them anyday!. and jackie...i havent took my 2 younger kids swimming ever either..i sat on the side watching a few days ago while they were in with their dad!.its sad we feel like that..i used to take my older son cos i was a single parent..but was so much slimmer then. i am going to buy a cossie this year tho for my hol in october..still looking, but got some sarongs to cover up flabby belly bit ready!..i WILL get in the pool and sea!..and also can i be there when you drag your teenagers to the swimming pool to play!!!! love to see that..LOL!. Garry, good luck with your op:thumbup: and all the best wishes to those being banded on friday!!.:) went to see wendy yesterday..i didnt have a fill..not had one since beginning of june..i lost another 4lbs( lost 4lb of fat..but gained 1lb of muscle)..so that shows that you can lose the inches without losing the weight! been bit more active over the last month.big sister disappointed with not losing, but they say its the hardest time when you only have stone or two to go.i have lent her my stepper, sure it will kick start her up again!..i think they are really good especially the new ones that move from side to side, quick and easy, cheap and dont take much room up. anyway i hope to clock in again sometime tomorrow! gillian x

Flirty - hope you're recovering ok :smile2:

BIRTHDAYS - HAPPY BIRTHDAY.....

All being banded this week - GOOD LUCK hope it goes well

Beeboo - MY GOD I was gonna do the plates as well - lucky I didn't! Would guess it could move the band?? Bollocks - back to the EA Sports :)

I been doing ok - i got 14 kilos today  so I'm pleased...

Please ask about rowing machine for me I use one for about 20 mins, but not that often if I'm honest. Good luck Gaz.

Birthday outing for me to Madam Fona (ladies fitting specialist) Yippee dropped a bra size around the back but not around the front, changed from 38d to 36d, I love this moody band, so no more over the shoulder boulder holder, now its pretty frothy lace. :)

Hi Guys may I first of all welcome Mandy back thats a whole lot going on in your life, try not to get too stressed babe.

Gary Im soo pleased your not out of pocket, do you know what part of the band is leaking and if you have to get whole new band. Im sure your just relieved to be getting it. I was wondering if you have to go through the whole scenario again with waiting for weeks before first fill or because you already have a band placed will it just be a matter of filling it to where you were before. Either way Im sure you will get on with it without complaint because thats the type of guy you are. Good luck Gary.

Time is now I am so ready for a fill. Glad you enjoyed the Wedding WEEKEND hope it hasnt done too much damage. What time is your appt?

Bev that episode must have been so embarrasing for you but sometimes I think it takes something like that to happen to give us a kick up the back side although its not nice!! I remember my mums 2nd trip on a plane she couldnt get seatbelt fastned and they had to give her extension. She was mortified, and 3 women who were sitting across from her were giggling, she couldnt hold her head up for the 4 hour journey. When the plane landed and the overhead cabins opened the woman who had done the most giggling got hit on the head with a bag containing duty free alcohol and she started to cry,the stewardess knew what had happend earlier and smiled at my mum, guess who wasnt feeling any sympathy??? Anyway to cut a long story short on that holiday mum lost a stone. Could fasten her seatbelt flight home and continued to lose another 3 stone when she got home. Jx

Got to go to work now.

my understanding to this point is that he thinks its the tubing from my port, therefore he will x ray me the night before and then decide, if thats what it is he can replace the tubing and i think by only opening the port scar, so i dont think i will have all the holes opended again well i hope not. I have to stay in hosp one night and like everyone else i cant go home till following day. If they find its leaking elsewhere then i have no idea, i guess it will need replaced and as for fills after i am unsure what will happen.

All the fun of the fair.

How's it goin ?

Bev that must have been awful for u, I know I can relate to this in so many ways, and you adapt by putting on a front but inside ur distraught. People say I'm very upbeat and confident, and it takes alot to drag me down - but my weight was starting to do just that. I would only go out with close friends and didn't want to go to bbq's, swimmers, and this did impact on rest of family - as I was starting to become very self conscious and disgusted with myself. Ur going in the right direction now. Even though I have only lost a few pounds since being banded - emotionally I already feel stronger, because I know I have taken the plunge and have started my journey to a healthier and in some ways happier future and next summer I hope I'll b saying bring it on as I love socializing. :)

I'm really interested in ur chat about using some excercise equip' I was not aware of this and had also been considering using p' plate at local tan' salon.

Gary it would b great if u could get more info on this, does anyone know if you can use the slendertone toning belt (worn just below belly button) gee's I'm scared of going up in puff of smoke  I used this everyday, for several months before my last holiday and believe it made a difference.

Gary fingers crossed it's the lesser op, it's brill ur still keepin up training etc.

hi, im new to this but was banded by cdb on 7th july 09 and so far so good. i had lost 2st within the first 2 wks but as the swelling has gone down and the healing started i have regained a coupla pounds. at first i was gutted cos my biggest fear was/is that it wont work, after all nothing else has. But hopefully after my fill is done on the 27th August that will change and off we go, lol. At the moment i dont feel to much restriction, however i have had the odd scary moment when it felt like the food was stuck in my throat!. i think the worst experiance i have had to date since the band was fitted was last week. I was admitted to my local hossy because i had faecal impaction and hadnt been 10 days!! oh the pain :) felt like i was sitting on a rugby ball. Alls clear now but i live on Movical. any way i look forward to continue to read all your stories, ideas and probs, as they are insirational.

Take care all:thumbup:

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
