3 weeks post-Op ... before and after

Uhh... OP seems to have different color hair and skin in the photo, just observing......

Ummmm....you do realize that different types of lighting can account for tonal changes in a photograph????? hair color changes made you question the veracity of the picture???? SMH....I guess if anyone decides to post a WLS before/after picture, they'll need to make sure the pictures are taken with THE EXACT SAME CLOTHING, HAIR, POSES, LIGHTING, BACKDROPS, ETC to satisfy any naysayers.

Why be so disparaging......????? Just be happy for a person-& if you can't, DON'T COMMENT!

Uhm yea I realize that difference in lighting can change things, I'm not an idiot. What made me question it initially and apparently others as well is the amount of weight lost in 3 weeks. Because of that I looked closer and imo it looks like a different person. If you don't agree that's fine. If OP wants to defend herself she can. Calm down.

I didn't say you were an idiot .....I just don't get why instead of sounding judgemental or condescending, you or others couldn't have said something like "Great job! I see the new hair color too!" (or similar)...but that's just MY HUMBLE OPINION on the matter.

It wasn't a judgement one way or the other it was a neutral observation. I'm sorry you feel offended.

Look at the body there is no way that is the same person. I may believe it may be months but not 3 weeks.

Lady, I really don't care what you think. The fact is the before and after are BOTH ME. And I'm very super proud of myself and your negative and ignorant doesn't upset me. It actually makes me happy!

Woah, how much have you lost since starting?

Fridge Pickers Wear Bigger Knickers

I have lost 32lbs including my pre-op. But I have lost more inches than pounds I feel because I have been walking average of 4.5 miles everyday.

I agree. I am the same size as the clearly white woman on the right side photo and I am pushing 300 lbs. The pic on the left is someone with a browner skin tone and looks way under 200 lbs. The problem is, there is no incentive to lie because she said she only lost what, 30-40 lbs. It just doesn't compute and all of us lifer obese folks know it.

We don't know her and she doesn't need to impress us with anonymous pics so why lie, it makes no sense. More problematic is that people who freak out over a reaction such as yours clearly is on the defensive. Let's just ignore her...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
