Happy new year sleeve

Recommended Posts

I had surgery 12/3016. I had a unknown bonus surgery as well. It seems i had a hiatial hernia. They repaired that and completed the sleeve. Now im not sure what my body is telling me. Everytime i put something in my mouth i have a wave of cramping/pain. My wife us a 20 year ER nurse and wont let me get behind on myprotein or Fluid intake. But it is so unsettling to me im afraid to try anything at all. Walking isnt an issue. No pain there. Just slow moving. Just the putting something in my mouth has me worried. I am begining to wonder if i have made a mistake.

You will probably have buyers remorse for a while. I did for probably 3 months. I'm 4 1/2 months out now. Still Hard to eat more than a few bites of meat. Keep up on fluids and Proteins. Eat easy foods. All you are experiencing is normal.

You should let your doctor know about the pain so he or she can prescribe something for you. I had that same problem and it's because you were stitched too right from the hernia surgery. I took I 3 times a day it's little drops. If you need a pic of the bottle let me know. The part of not being able to eat then when you decided to eat it hurt to swallow can be a pain

You had major surgery 3 days ago! You are sore and swollen from the surgery. Learn to Listen to the signals your body is telling you. Lots of adjustments and new signals to learn from. Your brain has to adjust to all the body changes. Try to pay attention to the new signals, it will get better over time. Do your best every day, don't push if you are uncomfortable. That can cause a slight setback. You will learn what your body is telling you. Easy does it. Your food plan is based on where you are post op - healing and what you can tolerate as you heal. Dont push ahead too. fast. Pause of you need to. It all comes with time, attention, and persistence.

Yesterday was my one year surgiversary. So glad I did it, at age 70!

Small sips. A one ounce cup is your friend. You get the signals from your stomach, no one else. Keep your surgical team informed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
