Hi all. I just wanted to tell me story as I was just sleeved and found the app.

I am 28 yrs old. Been overweight my entire life. I started dieting and exercising my senior year in height school, fluctuated up and down but trended down all throughout college. My max weight at the time was 300lbs after having my first child. My min weight was 220 before and after her. I got to that number by counting calories, and exercising 1.5+ hours a day.

I got pregnant with my second child (2015) and started gaining massive weight. I topped out at 320 at delivery. I knew that I wasn't in a position to spend so much time to get the weight off without the surgery. I know all the do's & dont's But I am a wife mom full time student and I work too

So I waited until the semester was almost over and started the process. Crazy thing is it took less than a month!

I went the hernia repair route, never had a hiccup.

Now, 2 days post op I'm feeling ok. Sipping on Water mostly. Walking a lot to keep the gas down. Taking pain meds gas x and nausea meds.

I do feel like "what the F did you do that for?!" A few times a day but then I think about the anxiety getting dressed and facing the world at 320 caused me and move on.

I just did not feel like myself at that weight and took action as quickly as I could.

I hope each of you are successful in your journeys. Be happy healthy and whole

Tess

@@Suaniya I didn't want to go through weight loss program that insurance required so I had surgeon "check" for hiatal hernia. (EGD) Of course I had a "small one" so the insurance covered it without a wait.

Thanks for sharing, I meet with the Dr for my consultation this coming Friday. Any advise on what questions I should ask that you would recommend?

Honestly the questions won't become too important until you've had the surgery...if that makes sense. Dr will be giving info so Just ask to have everything explained in detail.

What is your post op diet like and how much are you walking? I'm pretty much pacing all the time (now) cause I'm not comfortable enough to go outside for power walks.

The surgery process isn't that bad. I had my tubes tied as a little test run. You fall asleep so fast and just wake up when they're done. The only issue with this surgery is that I felt rushed! My Dr had 12 that day and other Dr at surgical hospital as well. A good nurse will go a long way.

Good luck ????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
