Hashimoto's hypothyroidism success

Recommended Posts

Hi all I am new to this forum I'm trying to consider which type of surgery will work best for me. I would like to ask a question of anybody reading in this form if they have Hashimoto's or hypothyroid and what the success was for having bypass surgery. Any input would be gratefully accepted

Hello welcome to the forum. Yes before my gastric bypass I had hypothyroidism and hashmotis. I was taking synthroid and cytomel for both condition and also had auto immune disorder and severe GERD. After my gastric bypass I am so much better and only take a low dose of synthroid. I have more energy and my body feels different in a better way. Actually I am going to see my endocrinologist in 2 weeks to see my levels. Regarding the type of surgury you deciding depends on what your surgeon thinks is best for your health and medical condition if you have any. I was recommended bypas due to severe GERD and severe erosion and esphogitis. Any question please ask and I will do my best to help you. Best of luck. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
