So it looks as if my 15 years of waiting is over..I finally have insurance that covers Sleeve Surgery.

I have Mental Illness. I'm diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I'm concerned about getting clearance from my psychiatrist (I've just became her patient 3 mths ago).

Is there anyone on here who has been diagnosed with Mental Illness and has/had difficulty for surgery clearance?

I have anxiety and bipolar 2. I wasn't cleared right away bc my psychiatrist didn't have a history of working with bariatric patients. However he wrote a letter to them and I was cleared. The previous person's reply was possibly true that the weight could be a huge percent of the depression. I've lost almost 80 since my surgery in july and have cut back on meds. I'm sure you'll do great!!!
