Looking for one piece of advice what would it be. And go.....

btw I've been researching weight loss surgery for 5 years and specifically the sleeve for a year but looking for the nitty gritty details. Tia

Excited ( slightly nervous) for the journey.

Follow the eating plan given to you after surgery. So many people try to rush into real food. They always regret it. It takes 5 or 6 weeks for you to totally heal and the swelling in your stomach to go down. That staple line needs to close completely or you risk a leak which can be life threatening.

And get your Water in. Sip, sip, sip.

Good luck! I stuc stricctly to the doctor's plan and had no complications. I am grateful for that. I was a bit down, because Im not losing quicly. But reading the forum about how others are dng or did at the sae stage. I feel so mc better, now.

I was sleeved Nov 30th, my advice: it's going to be a rough few days after the surgery, you'll hurt, your mobility will be limited, and clear liquid really sucks, but I promise you, it will get better. You'll have regret, because nothing will seem to be worth the pain and the limitations you'll be experiencing, you'll think "I don't have to be feeling this, I opted for this!" And wonder what the heck you did, but I promise that it'll be worth it.

Tl;dr: It will get better ❤️

Good luck. I just advanced to regular diet (with restrictions) yesterday.

I would advise you to stick strictly to YOUR doctors plans. I didn't have any complications, but I was so weak I could barely get out of the chair. If I had made more effort to drink the required Water and Protein, I would have felt better and probably would have lost more weight.

Reading about others successes and problems has eased my mind considerably, I feel less isolated.

I wish you all the luck. Stay strong and on plan when it is the hardest!

How long did the weakness last? Hope you are felling better now.

The weakness lasted about 3 weeks. I was foolish and should have call the doctor. But I kept trying to drink the required Protein drink and liquids. I eventually got enough in to make me feel better. Now I am feeling fine and trying to stick strictly to the plan. Thanks for asking. I'm glad I found this forum I've learned alot

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
