Hi there! This is my first time posting here, I wanted to share my experience with my gastric sleeve surgery. I was admitted to hospital at 800 surgery started arou d 915 and ended at 1015. Was kept in recovery for about 2 hours. When I finally woke up I was in an amazing amount of pain, I started asking for pain medicine, after I was given the medicine everything went back to normal. I was taken to my room and felt ok exempt for a lot of nauseas, but no pain. On second day I was doing much better . On third day that I was sent home around 9 a,m. I felt incredible, no pain whatsoever , I even went for a brief walk around the block for 20 ,ins . I just wanted to share if in case my experience will help others.

i am really new on this so i do not know how to reply individually. all i can say today is my 4th day post and feel great. i had my gall bladder removed last year and the pain is not even close so i really knew what to expect, no gas pain that was the best part. i think i was just so ready for this , mentally, i had 10 years investigating and for whatosever reason i did not follow thru. this time i was so convinced so determined that it was my time. i have 4 small children all under 7, i knew i had to be at my best for them. today i went again for my 30 mins walk, i can do much more , but i will adhere to my dr's advice since i may no see it or feell my body has a lot of healing to do. i stopped yesterday pain medication and even drove to a near location without problem. i am really determined to think that it was all mentally, i went to my admission at the hosipiatl so happy, never did i have a doubt. blessing to all

I was sleeved November 1. I made the decision for the surgery mid-summer and started the process.

I had a fantastic surgeon. I had a minimum of pain afterward, only taking pain meds for 1 day.

I returned to work last Monday. My challenges are really knowing when I am full and getting enough Protein in. I know it's early and I will get there. I've lost 18.5 lbs since surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
