I will be having the gastric sleeve in 24 days. I have already been approved by insurance and my leave from work is approved. Until this point I have been so motivated and excited and now that everything is set I'm finding it sooooo hard to stay on track. Did this happen to anyone else? If so how did you get back on track? I'm really struggling and I need some help!

Yes! Once I had my date, I started cheating on the diet even more. It's like I wanted to eat everything I thought that I would never eat again. I was having food funerals. I only got back on track three days before my surgery. I realize this was something I really wanted and that food is not my happiness. Get focus and think deep about the future you want.

I feel the same way! I feel like I'm never gonna have certain things so I have to eat it all now and that's so bad. Then I feel bad after eating it and I'm reminded that this is the very feeling that made me start this journey to begin with. It's definitely a battle but I'm gonna talk to my Dr on Monday about it

I think I've gained about that much too. I have been going to weight management and trying to complete all the requirements for surgery since April so I think part of it is losing patience and kinda being over the waiting game. And though 24 days Isn't forever it still just feels too damn far away lol. I really need to get on mostly liquids next week to prepare. What drinks do you use?

I'm going to be completely honest with you. I went ape sh*t before my surgery. Once i got a date i got this deep seeded fear of missing out. Which is ironic because I had that feeling when fighting forward through the appointments and waiting for insurance approval. I think that's just human nature. 24 days seems like forever but time goes by so incredibly fast.

I had 5 days of crazy food funerals prior to the start of my two week liquid diet. I cheated a couple of times on the liquid, mostly with Protein, but was 100% the last 5 days. I lost 25lbs during those 2 weeks.

Thank you so much! It's so nice to know others felt this way and I'm not some ungrateful person who keeps eating lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
