BC/BS of California

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with BC/BS of California? Were they pretty generous with coverage? Do they make do a 3 or 6 mo. supervised diet? :help:

Thanks

I'm not in Cali but I do have BC/BS of Georgia. I got approved after completing all of the dr appts. The entire process from the time the form was submitted to them by my dr was 1 month.

I am in Texas but have BCBS of CA and they have been great. I was approved within a couple of weeks of my initial consult and psych eval. No period of supervised dieting required. Everyone's policy is different though. I hope you'll have the same results I've had.

Met w/surgeon 5/31 - had 1 million pre-op test had approval by 6/21 - I think my shrink visit was 6/14 - The doc's office did it all would have had surgery 7/10 but still had some test to do - so 7/17 was my band date.

Good Luck...

I'm taking this all in because I'm california blue shield and my internist just asked for the referral for me to the bariatric center at our local hospital. My question is how long did you (and anyone else who cares to answer) have to wait between approval and date for banding?
