I'm a desperate husband looking for any kind of information based on previous experience about dealing with blood clots in lungs, my wife had a gastric bypass surgery in 31th of August, her surgeon discharged her without giving a blood thinner according to her my wife status was fine and she didn't need that, everything seemed fine until the last couple of days when my wife started to feel very tired, after that we've been told that she got blood clots in her lungs.the new doctor proposed a treatment that can last from month to a year with. I feel helpless especially after reading some horrible stories about this online...

I'm a ct tech that scans constantly for pulmonary embolism. It is very common unfortunately. But the outcome can be just fine!!!! Yes there are worst case scenarios. But for the most part you are put on blood thinners and they dissolve the clots :-) it is very stressful I'm sure. Positive thoughts your way for your wife!!!!
