  8. I'm a ct tech that scans constantly for pulmonary embolism. It is very common unfortunately. But the outcome can be just fine!!!! Yes there are worst case scenarios. But for the most part you are put on blood thinners and they dissolve the clots :-) it is very stressful I'm sure. Positive thoughts your way for your wife!!!!
  9. Multivitamin and calcium only. I'm 1.5 years post op.
  10. I am an X-ray tech. Absolutely standard prior to surgery. Also C spine X-rays are getting used more to ensure no abnormalities prior to surgery. They want to ensure no problems with intubation :-)
  11. You are going to make yourself sick. Your stomach is still healing. I am 1.5 years out and just ate a sandwich today. It was a small one made out of a rap and it doesn't feel pleasant. You might want to take it a bit slower! :-)
  12. I get thin multigrain rice cakes that are gluten free and put peanut butter on it. That's the extent of my bread eating. Although I did have a bit of a bread stick at Olive Garden with my mussels!!!
  13. I am 1.5 years out and eat 12-1500. Maintains my 165 weight. I am 5 foot 8.
  14. I am a mammo tech and you are exactly correct!! Large weight loss changes so much and the person reading your films will need to know. Weightloss changes the density of your breasts. ***and a friendly reminder to do a quick wipe under your breasts before the exam. I did a mammo once and when I lifted the breast a few riceckrispies fell onto the machine :-). Unless you want the tech to know what you just ate lol.
  15. I found my full open hysterectomy far worse!!!!!!
  16. Hi:-) thx for the input. Only reason was that at 159 I am a regular bmi. I'm pretty happy with where I am. I wear size 8 pants and a medium/large shirt. I fit into small scrubs. I feel healthy and my knees feel great!!! Just that silly number is stuck in my head!!!
  17. I had my sleeve surgery January 2015. I am about 5 lbs from my goal weight. I started at 253 and currently weigh 164 lbs. I am 5 foot 8. My goal is 159. I have been this weight since November 2015. Longest stall ever. My body sits comfortably at this weight. I go as low as 163 and as high as 167 without doing too much. I hate the idea of not reaching my goal but no matter what I try it won't budge!!! I increase Protein. Nothing. Increase Water. Nothing. Cut out all treats of any sort. Nothing. Then I go back to my usual of just getting by without trying too hard. Seems like it will never happen!
  18. Oh I guess!!!!! I think some have take Advil but for very short times. GOODLUCK!!! The pain is terrible :-(
  19. Maybe have it removed!!! I had it 30 years ago and was sooooo painful. I had surgery to remove it.
  20. I am an X-ray/ct tech. Was out two weeks and went back to lifting and pushing right away. No problems but I don't recommend it.
  21. I was mi doctor and had Valenzuela in January 2015. She was a wonderful surgeon and I had no issues. I thought the hospital was fine.
