OMG I can't believe it

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone,

I'm the Gal who had an issue with bmi only being 39. I went into the bariatric department on 9/1 to be officially weighed and get my height. Found out I was 5"3 instead of 5"4 and I had a bmi of 42. My case manager informed that I had to have 2 weigh ins showing a 40 bmi. Well in May and June I had Doc visits with weight of 227 & 228. I was scheduled with a phone consultation with surgeon next Tuesday.

So today I sent surgeon an email about my height being 5"3 and not 5"4 and my weight in May and June and wondering if he'd consider that as weigh ins. About 10 minutes later my case manager called and informed me that I have been accepted into the program!!! I go to my first class next Friday. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time.

Same here! I always thought I was 5'10" -- nope, 5'8"! I went from squeaking by with a 40 BMI to a 42. Who knew being bigger was a plus for once?

I believe so. Not exactly sure how Kaiser does this. I know the surgeon has accepted me into the program. For awhile I wasn't sure I'd be accepted. I go to my first class on 9/16. Will meet surgeon and case worker.
