Constant Nausea

Hey everyone. I've had constant nausea since they day of surgery. I can't drink anything without feeling nauseous. I don't actually throw up, thankfully. However with the lack of appetite from the surgery and the constant nausea...I'm having a hard time getting in food and drink. How long does this last? I went and bought a bag of Sonic ice because it's like hospital ice. Eating ice doesn't make me as sick as drinking...and at least I'm getting fluids in. I can't drink any Protein shakes....so I'm lucky to get 30-40 grams of protein per day. :(

I understand what all of you are going through because I'm going through it now. It gets worse in the evening. My pouch doesn't tolerate any of the Protein drinks, not even the Atkins. All of them are too thick and too sweet. Just thinking about them makes me nauseous. It's so hard to eat when I'm not hungry. Water, it's like my pouch will take it sometime and sometimes not. I've spoken with the nurse and dr. My MEDS have been changed. Acid reflux meds twice a day and nausea meds twice a day. Everything was coming back up at first. Eventhough that's has eased up some, I feel miserable. I don't understand why it mainly happens at night. I get a nasty taste in my mouth and then I can't drink water.
