First Fill Today

Recommended Posts

I just got back from the Doctor's office and I got my first fill. He put in 1.5cc, and I am on liquid the rest of the day.

I didn't feel the needle or anything. I just felt some pressure from him pushing down to put it in the port. He put it in and pulled it out and put it in again. So anyone being afraid of this needs to know there is no pain at all!

Betty... I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that you had a good experience with your first fill! I hope that your first one gives you the restriction you need! Congrats!

Thank you for letting us know! I am sure someday I will have a fill, and I'm glad to know it's not a difficult experience. I'd love to know how it affects your eating once you can eat solids again. You've had so much success already!

What made you feel that you needed a fill? How did you know?

Forty-one pounds is just awesome!

1.5cc's is the recommended size for the first fill and right at 7 weeks.

Are you burping alot?

Restriction anticipation...

wooo-hooo... the first fill! Glad it went well.

Isnt it a strange feeling??? I remember my first fill - and my insides actually feeling different - a tightness?!?! It went away about a week later.

It wasnt as noticable with the second fill though.

So your doctor wants you to do lquids for the rest of the day???

Be careful! Everything is swollen right now.

I went to see my dr today too. He had told me the last time I saw him that we would probably do a fill today. Instead, when I got there he just asked if I had a good Thanksgiving and said he would schedule the fill for next Monday. He didn't look at my tummy or anything. Not sure what I went in for....

Yes Vera I did do some burping! I take it that is the norm.

Paula yes I do feel that tight feeling. I am taking it very easy, only a few spoons of warm Soup. Water, Water, and more Water.

Michelle - Thanks, I need to get moving on the downward trend again.

Darcy - I soooooooooo hope so too! lol

Thanks y'all!

That's great, Betty! You'll be zipping right past us now. I can't imagine how great you'll do now!

Blossom, who can figure these drs. out? I hope you didn't have to drive very far to his office. Good luck on Monday's fill.

Betty, hopefully the doctor hit that sweet spot everyone raves about. That would be great through the holidays. Also, it's good to know that needle doesn't hurt, I don't think I'll ever get over that one I had on Monday for my IV's, still can't get a watch on from the swelling.

Blossom, he probably just wanted to look at those pretty blue eyes one more time!

Pat - They put 2 IV needles in me, one in each hand and one was hurting so bad when I woke up. I ask the nurse about it and she checked it and said they used too big of a needle. She took it out, but my hand stayed swollen and turned black and blue for a couple of weeks.

I know my fill is working right now, but I might be still a little swollen, but it is doing an amazing job on the eating right now. I sure hope it stays that way!

How are you doing with your eating? Or should I say drinking mostly? Jello worked real good for me during that phase. I also warmed up my Protein drink and it tasted like hot chocolate and it was really good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
