Hi SDC, yeah, I guess you can guess that tacos at 3 weeks wouldn't be a good idea. Do talk to your nutritionist and/or surgeon when you can start incorporating solid foods on your plan. If there is anything one will learn on this forum is that there are huge differences between surgeons/nutritionists/people opinions. Some go low carb, others prefer balanced... blahblahblah. hehe

Once you're cleared for solids, may I suggest some healthy taco recipes. I had the band for a long time (been a member since 2010), and often enjoyed healthy tacos. I just recently revised to the sleeve due to issues with the band, so I'm still in the pureed stage. So like you, no tacos for me. :)

However, in the future, here are some ideas. Hope this helps.

I think the OP is long gone from the topic. It's now become fodder for the rest of us.

Where would you or I be without the guidance of the Veterans here. They have counseled on poop, tacos, hamburgers, vomiting, pain, Vitamins, four YEARS. Sometimes the questions are so absurd the only way to deal with them are with humor. LIghten up. You have no community of dedicated helpers like you have here. Trust me.

Oh wait- I see you're a Newbie here...

Wondering? Are you actually having WLS or did you just join the forum to stir up crap?

Again. Here's my mirror.

Ok. ;)

Tacos are an excellent idea at three weeks out.

Better?

Again, with the snide remarks...Look, had you stuck with you FIRST comment on this thread I wouldn't have said anything, as that was appropriate. You didn't do that. Instead you posted a slew of shitty sarcastic remarks afterwards. Clearly, you're character defects weren't removed with the 85% of your stomach. Don't try to infect others with your unhappiness. Try therapy.

Do you have anything to offer other than a rude comments about other people? What gives you the right to post a slew of shitty remarks? You've been a member of this forum for about a minute and starting crap!

Maybe just not feed this in any way? Responding = validation, in whatever weird universe some people exist in.

I just had surgery 9/13/16. So I know what it's like to have silly food questions pop up in your mind. This should be a comfortable place to ask these questions. There shouldn't be chicken heads running around making sarcastic comments to people who are asking honest questions.

And if you cackling hens don't like my petty response to your pettiness, all I can say is don't dish it out. I'm done going back and forth with you mean women. I have a pretty fine life outside of this thread.

Best of luck to the original creator of this thread.

I love to cook. I haven't had my surgery yet but y'all might like this recipe. Ground turkey with taco seasoning, black Beans, refried Beans, cheese, and I make a cilantro lime dressing with a little mayo and Greek yogurt. I'd eat a spoonful of each and mix it all together like a burrito bowl.

Seriously there are no mean women. For years, the Veterans give 1,000 answers to soothe Newbies and others. Then comes post number 1,001, saying I ate a pork chop, can I eat a taco, I ate a turkey leg, and there is true pain to the people here who really try to guide others to healthy eating and results, which is more than frustrating. Can you understand this?

Did you not attend a visit with a nutritionist? Did you sign up for WLS thinking it was a route canal? This is insane. When we decide to go ahead and have WLS, we by this time realize what got us here. Like tacos. Ice cream. Breads. pastas. You should be on liquids 2 weeks in and sometimes longer, then mushies for a 2-3 weeks more. That's when you try solid Proteins, even then it's touch and go. You do know that eating healthy is a change you knew had to happen. Especially after a drastic invasive surgery like ours. You need to seek ur nutritionist out and a psychologist who works with people who have had weight-loss surgery. So I'd say tacos is a negative. 10-4?

So let's see... Seven posts total. Two of them craving rice, three throwing out insults. Yeah. Seems about right. ;)

I actually took ten minutes to skim through this thread looking for this "slew of shitty comments" I threw out. Clearly someone has me confused with someone else. Most of my comments referenced middle school humor with a bit of humor amongst friends.

Interesting.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
