Ok so crazy story. I am 2 weeks preop. I was in the hospital all of Labor Day weekend. So while there I watch my 600 pound life. The whole show she was addicted to Mexican food. I sat there for 2 hours watching that. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I have not had a craving for anything till then. So on our way home yesterday I stopped at Taco Bell got a regular taco scooped out a tiny bit of meat tasted great. Got home 15 minutes later and was in the bathroom for an hour. So yeah I'm over tacos. Lol

I had my sleeve on Friday, on Saturday I watched that show. My mom kept telling me I was a sicko, but I think it was good to see.

It's sad that we are a support group/informational group yet we have to worry about what we post because people are rude and ignorant. To the lady that said "geeZe you guys are too nice" and then continued with her condescending judge mental comments, we are all fighting the same battle. What makes you better? Why be ignorant. Didn't your mother ever teach you what to do if you have nothing nice to say? For the most part I've seen such supportive and awesome people on this site. Once in a while I come across the assholes. There really is no reason for it.

Hi!! Guess I'm the a*****e :). I'll wear that badge proudly as long as I'm being a proponent for people's health and success on this journey. (Woopsies! Here I go being condescending again, oh man. I'm the worst.) You know what wouldn't be nice? Me saying, "sure sweetie - choose that crunchy shell & spicy sauce - try to eat two! Yummmmy! And, hell, enjoy it with a double margarita."

Anyone who did ANY research or spoke to ANY doctor knows damn well they shouldn't eat a flipping taco post-op. Come on. You know what my mom taught me? To grow up and stop looking for others to validate things you know are wrong.

I think someone needs to stand up when ridiculous questions are asked so that those considering the surgery don't get misinformation.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
