Looking for people who are likely to get surgery in Spring 2017!

I was just approved to start the Stage II Molina Bariatric Surgery Program(Apple Health) last week! (8/11) First NUT appointment is today and I'm already overwhelmed by all the criteria. Lol I'm so nervous because I soooo don't want to screw this opportunity up.

I'm constantly thinking of how many times I've let myself down doing other things. I already know that I won't have the money to afford this in the future, so I better cut the crap right now.. lol Argh! My nerves.. so anxious.. Anyone starting their journey now and looking at Spring 2017 surgery date (If all goes well) ?

Just after new years here, guesstimation by my nut ☺

Cleared by my nut and endo, so only waiting for my surgeons appointment and the surgery date. Psych not required, but did the vlcd with my nut successfully and my stupid self went and gained back almost all of my 20+ lbs lost...

So now on an oldfashioned diet, counting calories and then vlcd again, the few weeks before the surgery. I just wish I knew my date already!!!

Good luck everyone ❤

Hi! I'm having mine in 3/2017. Super nervous

I know how you feel! This will be my first surgical experience so it makes me nervous. But I try to remind myself that there are always risks in life and (as we are all aware) there are also serious risks associated with obesity.

It's totally normal though! We can do this!

So frustrated! Trying to get a case worker. Ive already started setting up appointments and I need to make sure Im doing it all correctly. But I can't seem to get a straight answer.

I am just starting as well! Last week was my consultation now I have three more visits ( my insurance I need 3 months nut visits.) So I am looking at the end of Jan or beginning of feb 2017. I am both terrified and excited!!

Has anyone lost enough weight in the 6 month waiting period to call off the surgery and continue to work on dieting? I would rather not have the surgery but want to be healthy. I have lost 9 lbs and am 2 months into my 6 month waiting period.

I lost a good amount on vlcd, but struggled to maintain. I thought that I could do it on my own, but now I'm happily on a diet and waiting for my surgery. Yo-yo expert ????

Great job if you can do it! You can always say no thanks up until they put the anesthesia in your iv.

Good luck!

I've lost 4 pound in the 3 weeks I've been dieting. I also have 6 months to lose. I need to lose 12. I am also a yoyo dieter. I can lose it but ALWAYS gain it back. Do what you feel is right :) If you can use the tools given you to lose weight AND keep it of wonderful!

My bariatric center has seen some people lose quite a bit on their supervised weight loss, and then decide to keep trying without surgery. Some people just need help and education to be successful.

I am hoping for March or April 2017. I have to do 6 months of NUT appointments. I am so excited.

I will be having mine probably in April if every thing goes ok. I am on medicare due to a back disability. I will be having my surgery in greenville sc. I have to attend 10 support group meetings and also have to have an egd and colonoscopy since I am over 50. Both of those tests will be scheduled the same day tho.. will know more tuesday when I go for my first appt after I had signed up for the program after attending the info class this past monday.

I'm two months in to my required six NUT (UHC) appointments. BMI 40+ with all the co-morbids. All other req met. Hopefully approval will be quick when I finish NUT appointments in December and surgery in Feb/March. I was hopeful to get surgery done this year as deductible is met.

I'm just getting started, scheduled my 1st appt with surgeon today. BMI 45, and everything ready to go, I have been researching the sleeve for months, but had to wait 3 months to get into my gp.... now we found out I gotta do 6 mon. Diet for insurance. Was hoping for a January surgery date, but looks like it will be April or May. I'm so excited.... I had given up on ever being healthy and losing weight, so this seems like a miricle.... I can't wait for it to get here. Just wish I'd have started sooner!
