@@M579 yes that is exactly it! Maybe I'm doing to much idk?! I see the surgeon Friday and believe he will not let me go back to work like this. Thank you for your response and has calm me a little knowing I'm not the only one. are you back to work? If so, how do you handle the pain?

I am back at work. I have a desk job though so I don't move a lot. ^_^ I had the surgery on a Weds and then worked from home for a week starting the next Monday. Back at work for a little over a week now. As long as I don't move suddenly or push against something I don't hurt. I will be very curious as to what your surgeon tells you. Please share! I decided to take it easier and I didn't try to walk for 20 min at lunch time. I am going to give it another week and see if it doesn't heal a little more. If you can afford to stay off of work for a little bit longer then you should take the time to get fully healed.

@@M579 I will let you with the md says. My husband is pushing for me to stay home. I applied for short term disability yesterday, but I'm so ready to get back to living a normal life. I was thinking of holding off on the walking. I do 2miles every other day, even though I walk slow maybe it's to much.

@@M579 ok so my md said it is normal. What happen is the cut is going against the grain and in a moresensitive area surrounding a lot of nerves and They had to staple/suture that one particular incision. It normally takes 6wks to fully heal. Some people have minimal pain and others like myself have more. Nothing I did made it worst. She told me activities as tolerate and to take Tylenol 4x to build up in my system to help with pain. But it just a matter of time.

Thanks bpowell, Glad your surgeon gave you the all clear. My pain from earlier in the week lasted two days and then poof was gone. It was kind of strange. I have still tried to take it a little easer though on my walks. ;-)

I was sleeved the 29th. I have had a real hard time with the protien since surgery. I drink them before but have been told that your taste and texture tolerance changes. I drink Premier Protien and prefer their taste and the fact they are 30g of protien. I now have started adding a little Water and ice. Thinner and getting it the coldest I can has seemed to help. Someone suggested the high Protein hot chocolate that is 15g per 1 1/2 scoops. This morning I put 4 1/2 scoops in 12 oz of Water. It was like a rich hot chocolate and was 45g of protien. WooHoo. Hint that was passed on to me was to mix in 1/2 the total water "hot as you faucet gets". Once mixed add more of the same temp water and remix. After mixed good you can heat in the microwave to desired temp. Supposedly it doesn't mix as well in real hot water.

Does anybody use the plain protien you add to foods?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
