Wmmarie

I'm waiting on Aetna to above me. My dr says Aetna and Cigna are the hardest to get approved. I'm hopeful I have a tentative date for October 21.

I suffer the similar health issues. I should get approved. Much luck!

I've been postponed twice, my "new" date is 9/19. I'm probably the only freak on the planet super excited about starting the liquid diet since I've had my hopes dashed and had to rework my life around the changing dates.

Bring on 9/19 and a new way of life!

I've postponed my surgery twice, too; I thought I was the only one!! My date is 9/15, and I can't wait. The first time (May), I was on day 13 of the liquids-only pre-op diet and had a horrible chest cold. Anesthesia called for my pre-op consultation and said no way were they taking me to surgery the next day! Because of personal stuff and such, I rescheduled for July 21 only to have to cancel due to a family emergency; that time, I was only on day 6 of the pre-op diet, LOL! I am psyched to get started, and have no qualms at ALL about that pre-op diet- I've GOT THAT!!

@@Wmmarie we are sleeve sisters - I'm scheduled for the 19th as well! Now I just need to get through a few more hoops: EKG, pre-op exam and the dreaded pre-op liquid diet. Right now I'm trying to knock off the 2 lbs I gained after my qualifying appointment - sigh. I cannot wait for the 19th though, so ready for this!

Hello! The tune is going quickly. I start my pre op diet on 9/4. I am ready. Making lists of last minute questions for the surgeon and what to pack. Very real now.

I have an appointment Tuesday for my surgical clearance from my primary, then I can get my date scheduled. They said sometimes you get a date less than two weeks away. I need to be healed enough to spend a day at a wedding on the tenth or schedule after the twelfth. I can't wait til I just find out my date so I can make plans.

I'm struggling today - ate like I haven't eaten in weeks. Going to have a couple of days of shakes to get myself back on track. Happily I have realized that I never want to feel this full and gross from food again and that I much prefer the way of eating that I've developed during the leadup to surgery.

I'm suppose to have a date for September but the lady that handles the insurance part just has my file sitting on her desk while she takes a vacation! Why couldn't she do it before hand it wasn't like she didn't have it for two weeks already! I want to cry, I know impatient but the suspense is killing me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
