Diet pills...

Recommended Posts

I take ephedra pills.< /p>

Pre-op, when I do diets, I took Metabolife, etc.. things like that, that DID have Ephedra (the ones without the ephedra blend didn't do anything for me)...

but pills with ephedra make me wired.. lots of energy, not hungry, etc.

Since I'm disappointed with my current restriction, I decided to keep taking ephedra pills until I get to my ideal restriction.

But I do have a long list of pills that don't do squat... SmartBurn (Hoodia is suppose to be the special ingredient in it.. nothin), Leanoxide (not sure the 'active' ingredient, but did nothing)..

Ephedra isn't good for all though, some people get too hyper on them.

And of course, don't take more than recommended dose, can mess up your heart.

Oh, Carb Blocker-- doesn't block carbs (at the time I was watching my Ketosis on Atkins, I was in high ketosis till the day I tried a carb blocker and a piece of bread).. TrimSpa.. didn't do anything (they were non-ephedra, not sure if they have an ephedra version).

I'm nearly four weeks post-surgery and I've been taking Tenuate whenever I feel strong hunger pangs come on. I figure it keeps me from bingeing or grazing on things that are not healthy. Prior to getting a fill, I need support to keep me from overeating. I haven't told my endocrinologist who gave me the prescription that I'm taking it but my therapist (who helps me focus on my eating disorder) knows and she thinks I should acknowledge the hunger and, after making sure it's real hunger and not an emotional response, eat something. However, she also wants me to be strict and keep my calories down. So, the Tenuate is really just a useful stop-gap for now.

I haven't, but I thought about taking Alli...The side effects concern me though and I haven't actually heard anyone say who it works. And it's expensive.

I took diet pills a bunch of times. Always lost weight on the prescription ones and then gained back more. Never lost weight on the OTC ones. I figure getting the band frees me from following every new ad on TV promising weight loss. The band gives me Portion Control and I give me healthy food.< /p>

Oh, and the plateaus with the band teach me patience. The PBs teach me about my mistakes in eating. Waiting for fills also teaches patience. Whew! Who has time for diet pills!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
