Hi I'm a nurse in the icu and hoping/assuming I have a smooth surgery I am wondering how long it'll take before I am back to work? I do a lot of lifting and moving around at work so I wanted to hear from anyone else that was in similar situations and what I could generally expect about the timeframe of returning to work without limitations.... I was off 3 weeks. That was all my surgeon would let me have off and his APRN tried to tell me all I needed was 2. Both the surgeons I work with couldn't believe I wasn't off for at least 6. It was rough but I made it through.

I'm an RN and manager for busy case management department. Took 4 weeks and would have done one more but I was stir crazy.

The tiredness kicked my butt that first two weeks back, but I made it. I pretty much came home and passed out.

He time off helped me get through the eating stages with time to adjust.

I am a NP. Surgery 7/21 and will RTW 8/1/16. Not 100% but tired of being home.

Would anyone say the recovery period is different for rny? I'm a surgical tech....going too go back after 2 weeks
