Post op complications

Recommended Posts

They don't feel that I have any problems with circulation. They blame everything on fibro. Except my diarrhoea, they blame that on IBS.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that they are able to get to the bottom of what is causing the complications, and I wish you the best for a speedy recovery and relief from any symptoms and pain that you may have been suffering with.

God bless and stay encouraged! It WILL get better. :)

Maybe the next time you go in, insist on being admitted. Maybe they can put you in a rehab place for a few weeks. I don't have any other advice, except to let them know how bad it is for you at home..

Gina, I am praying for you right now. Do not give up hope. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I am being seen in clinic tomorrow on an emergency basis. Will be probably be admitted. This isn't gallbladder but could be C diff or some sort of post antibiotic colitis.

::shudder:: I really hope for your sake it's not c. diff. If it is, is there any chance your other friends' issues are c. diff related? Because if they've got c. diff in the OR suite or the recovery suites, anyone there could have gotten it. That stuff is nasty on so many levels. (speaks the nurse who doesn't work bedside anymore, but still has nightmares about c. diff patients).

My GP phoned the surgical assessment unit because she didn't know what to do. So back on the ward tomorrow at 8 am. I didn't have C diff three weeks ago but I did have IV and oral antibiotics for four weeks. I have no idea what is "normal" IBS-d following vsg but I know that these cramps and spasms in my lower bowel hurt too much to ignore. My stomach itself doesn't hurt. I can drink and eat if I want but once my stomach empties (I can hear it), and fluid/soup etc hits my bowel, they cramp until everything is ejected. No nausea, no vomiting, no fever, doesn't wake me up at night.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
