Late June Sleeve Buddies?

Since I've had my surgery, I've definitely learned a couple things about myself.

1. I am used to eating EXTREMELY FAST and it is very difficult for me to slow down enough when eating

2. I am still having major head hunger issues! I feel like I'm STARVING and dream of food, but when I actually eat, it's like 5 bites and I can't eat any more.

3. I sometimes miss overeating. Isn't that crazy?! I miss being able to take those big huge bites, or eat an entire bowl of Pasta. I think that is part of this process, letting go of those unhealthy relationships we used to have with food.< /p>

And the final thing I've learned is that I have more confidence with every pound I lose! Down 21 and feeling GREAT!

What have you learned about yourself so far?

Hey all! Today I went to my gastroenterologist for a follow up. He was going to do an upper GI series (which is drinking the barium drink) but he decided to do an EGD instead so if he does need to he can do stretching that may need to be done and also do biopsies for food allergies I may have developed. I have this feeling of things being stuck in my esophagus. I typically have an EGD every year anyways bc of my reflux.

Side note was that he said I looked great and he was super proud of the progress I've made.

#3 definitely. It is like a loss of power-----even though eating a giant bowl of pasta is a bad choice, we no longer can make that bad choice.

#3 I totally get. I was watching my husband eat last night and I was jealous, not of the quantity he could eat overall but of the size of the bite he could take. I would LOVE to take a huge bite of anything right now, and follow it with a couple of big gulps of Water.

FINALLY, I'm losing again. I was stuck for 8 days, but I kept on plan and kept exercising...woke up this morning 1.5 lbs lighter than yesterday. I'm now 25 lbs down since my surgery on 6/21! I'm glad to see week #3 in my rearview mirror :)

I'm losing again too! Was in a 4 day stall, then down 1 lb yesterday and another couple oz today. I haven't been hitting my Protein or Water requirements...has everybody else? I feel guilty about it!!

I'm doing pretty well with my Protein, but still struggling with the Water. Not sure why it's so hard but it is...

I'm having a little trouble with the Water too. for me it's the wait thirty min before and after eating. I tend to forget when thirty min is up and then it's been two hours. I'm a teacher and we start back in about a week and a half. I think having that schedule will help me get on track. I'm also going to start putting a timer on when I am done eating

My but says my Protein liquid consumption counts toward my 64oz otherwise i would be drowning trying to drink all that. On plus side thanks to chicken Unjury and high protein premier I am keeping to that goal!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
