Yep...

It sure sux...

But it's gotta be done...

I did 4 weeks with no guarantee of the procedure going ahead at the end of it...

Stick with it @@Capri3Js

The results you'll see are well worth the sh*t you're going thru now...

What I never understood about all this is some people have four weeks some people have to some people have one week some people have two days some people have the night before I never understood what the differences I know there's different surgeons and there's different reasons but what makes the difference in how long I'm five days postop I had to do a week of liquids and it was really hard I lost 15 pounds in that week post op but who makesthat decision on how many weeks you go on liquids I never understood that

I had no weeks pre-op liquid. In fact, at our preop appointment, a week prior, the PA told us to eat a NORMAL meal the night before. The only requirement was that we stop eating and drinking everything by 10pm. Other than that, I ate almost normally up until the night before and I was 277 at 5'5". So I don't get it either. Our surgeons, Atkinson and Soon, are known for the amount of WLS they do it here in Vegas and have great reputations so I dunno. I'm glad I didn't have to do the before one coz it's bad enough, worth it, but bad enough during the post op. At least my stomach isn't the size it was so it didn't bother me to not eat after the sleeve. I'm not sure I would have been able to do 2 or 4 weeks before. I'm almost 4 weeks out now and it's going real well. Stick to what your team tells you but I don't understand it either.

My surgeon does not require pre-op diet, only liquids they day before... He said the liquid diet weakens you and he wants people strong for surgery as well the fact that for the first week after surgery many struggle to get in food. My surgeon is a bariatric center of excellence, I going to assume that means their follow the most current research.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
