Starting purées a day early

I am two weeks post op as of tomorrow. My plan gives me permission to start soft foods beginning then. Do you think I could start tonight with some refried Beans? I either need some encouragement to stick it through one more day or permission from you all to start early. :-) My husband is making carnitas tacos for dinner and I'd love something other than a shake to enjoy with my family.

(I'm mostly joking, but I guess I do wonder how bad it would be to start soft foods just a hair before my deadline.)

I honestly don't think one day will kill you if you have a bite. But just because you're cleared for certain foods doesn't mean they will sit well. If you really want it take a small bite and see how it feels. if it's the first non liquid thing you will be eating I would suggest just a small spoonful or two. You don't know how your new tummy will handle it

I've been eating a super thick Greek yogurt (Oikos triple zero) since day 2 so after talking to my husband I decided to give the refried beans a try. They were DELICIOUS! I did a 1/4 cup with an oz of melted shredded cheddar and it went down very smoothly and easily.
