Great article about a nurse at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston who had VSG....

It's nice to see something positive in the media about bariatric surgery.

BIDMC (Beth Israel...) is where I originally started my weight loss journey back in 2009...I was scheduled to have the lap-band but my insurance company denied the surgery the day before it was scheduled. Fast forward to 2015 I have new insurance and ended up having the surgery done at Steward - St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton and had the VSG......everything happens for a reason! BIDMC has a good program I'm sure. I can also attest to the great crew at St. E's....and at Mt. Auburn in Cambridge as my mom had her surgery there. I really do live in a great part of the country for health care options.

She will still think you had the lapband. Whatever surgery sticks in peoples mind is what they think surgery is. It is like people who call all soda Coke.

So glad to see this! I live just west of Boston and am being sleeved on June 6th at Mt Auburn. So far my care these past six months has been excellent.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
