  3. Hello! I was sleeved on April 13! I'm trying to get a group of Boston people together to hang out , talk, swap stories, progress, recipes, etc. I've found since I had my surgery that a lot of my friends have become distant and stopped including me in stuff because they think I can't eat or drink. This app is great and all, but I figured a group meeting together sort of like our own support group, would be great! We could plan outings and stuff like that?! If anyone is interested, let me know!! Thanks .... Dawn Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Can I have bread and if not why?

I'm 5 months post op and will only eat a half of a slice of whole grain bread. It expands in your stomach and can make you sick. I had bad experiences with bread and rice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I had my surgery on April 13, 2016. I lost my first 19 two weeks out. In the last 2 weeks I've only lost about 5 pounds and I am freaking out. I'm back to work half days because I'm a mail carrier and my job is very active. I'm back at the gym 5 days a week. Only eating mushy foods abd liquids still. I get all of my Protein most days and all of my Water and then some. I know it's normal and that 2-3 pounds a week is still a great accomplishment considering I couldn't lose an ounce no matter how hard I tried before surgery. But I'm so scared that once I'm actually able to eat a little more, that my weight loss will stop! I think my body is broken. I get soooooo much exercise with my job that I think my metabolism is screwed up so bad that I simply will never get to that magical place we all want to go called Onederland!! My heaviest weight was 295, pre op weight was 265, current weight 240. I get so frustrated that I'm just gonna stay in the 240's, I cry and cry! I'm more depressed now than I was at 295 as crazy as that sounds. I'm so afraid that I'm just gonna stop eating all together. I'm going away for the 4th of July weekend and I wanted to be down at least 50 pounds by then. I'm going on a romantic vacation for my 5 year wedding anniversary in September/ October and I really want to reach Onederland by then. I'm going to support groups and talking to my nutritionist and she says I'm doing great and I'll get there but I know my body and my sucky metabolism!!!!! 21. @@darima77 I have my Protein shake in the am and I add chia seeds and natural Peanut Butter to it. It comes out to 350 calories . Then I eat a Greek yogurt, then a string cheese, some cottage cheese , for dinner usually like half of a turkey burger . After the gym I drink a light muscle milk! It adds up quickly. Lately I've been getting around 1000 calories, because of my activity level and the weight is coming off a lot easier. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Great news everyone!! I'm now 6 weeks out and down 30!! Steady losing about 3 pounds per week. Sometimes more!! It's so true , the stall is real!!! Once you're over it, the weight starts falling off. I actually started getting more Protein and eating more calories because I'm so active, and IT WORKED! I was also not having regular bowel movements so I started taking the stool softeners they send me home from the hospital with and now everything seems to be moving great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Trust me, the stall passes! I'm losing like crazy now Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
