Oooooo the dreaded duck lip look. That's why I will never go there. Sounds like she may have dabbled in the fillers or found a doctor who just gives her too much Botox. I play tennis with a woman who cannot move her face. She sat across from me at lunch before the other ladies got there and asked me if she had gotten too much Botox. I told her to make a face. She stared at me. I said no, make a face face! She stared at me.

This is an example of an overfill... Hahahaah!!!!! That's why I err on the side of caution and just get a bit. I also noticed it helps with headaches which is strange but I swear it does.

It absolutely does. Botox is used to treat Migraines. I had a client who got botox for his migraines regularly - and his Medicare H M O pays for it, too.

Botox can be life changing. I feel it is very safe in the hands of a good doctor. I have a friend who has a problem with vocal cords treated, and where I used to work we had a doctor come in to treat spasticity in patients with disability. some had their arms, hands or legs drawn up and when treated could function more normally and in once instance I know, walk again. I am thinking of having the doctor here treat between my eyebrows, but my 11 issue is very mild, so we'll see. I'm already here everyday anyway, so I'd just have to come up with the $$$

I keep a "jingle jar" for this very purpose. Whenever I get change or singles it goes into the Botox jar. There is also a program called Brilliant Distinctions that's free to sign up. Whenever you get a procedure you get money off your next treatment. It seriously adds up!

Facelifts Suggestions? Stories?

I am 62 years YOUNG!!!

last year i had a neck/face lift

i had talked to 3 other PS before i chose my doc

this guy is considered one of the tops

hospital of excellence too

his work is wonderful

i've always had my mothers double chin!!!

thanx mom!!!

i would NEVER had had plastics before WLS

too expensive and possible scary/bad results

i was prepared to buy stock in paper bags if they screwed up my face!!

105 lbs gone

double/turkey neck now even worse

i deserved to splurge on ME

everything went great

spent one night

doc told me the first 3 days are the hardest PO

he wasn't kidding!!!

bandages wrapped around my whole head

under my chin 24/7 for 3 weeks!!!

hubby changed nightly (little blood etc)

2 drains removed after 3 days - phew

my horrible neck looked/looks great

one neck/chin is better than 2

the absence of my wrinkles on my face is wonderful

i had another "stage" of the face lift a few months later (no cost)

doc had to wait extra long because BP wasn't co-operating!!

doc wanted to improve a couple of things he wasn't satisfied with

spent the night (less bandages, 2 weeks on)

then a 3rd time in and out to get rid of dog ears

we weren't expecting this last in and out but....

DONE (again no cost)

Now i'm wearing a "net" pulled from chin up to dog ears area, that are now gone!!

see him on monday - he will take net off, as my stiches continue to dissolve (have worn this for 2 weeks)

doc said this is all in his original cost since he felt he could have/should make a couple improvements

2nd and 3rd stage were much less painful!! walk in the park LOL

just like the sleeve

i don't regret this for a minute!!!

very happy

still "cute as a button"

that's my story and i'm stickin to it!!!

After I lost weight, I had very deep folds from my nose to below my lips.

I had 2 syringes of Juvederm injected by my dermatologist. The cost was $600 per syringe. The filler lasts for approximately 1 year.

I am 8 months out from the injections and still very pleased! I just look refreshed and natural.

Botox and fillers are a great alternative to plastics. I have something done every three months. I do not want to look different, but refreshed. She usually injects a little botox above my brows to life my lids, and I've had some fillers in the nasal-labial fold (creases around the mouth and nose - what I call looking like a weight loss victim). It helped a lot. Lately I've been working on cheek fillers, and those have had the greatest impact. It's almost not discernable, and I only do a little at a time. They last two years, so it's a good idea to not overdo it. Besides, you could easily rack up as much cost (over time) as a plastic surgery. It's a lot to consider. I asked my plastic surgeon if we should do a facelift, and she said no way, and her only suggestion was injectables.

I live in Michigan, and RNs can work under the license of a physician. I was lucky to stumble onto a highly qualified nurse (who actually teaches physicians how to inject) and she comes to my town quarterly. She works out of the salon where I go for other services, and her prices tend to be better than in a surgeons office (comparing to my plastic surgeon). Regardless of where you go, you would want to see their work, and hopefully talk to some of their clients. I also recommend going slow. We've tried some things that actually made me look worse, like botox under my eyes.

I had botox in my forehead, Voluma in my cheeks, and Juvederm in my lips. They were fun, but I think of all of them I probably liked the Voluma the best. I had my dermatologist do most of it and a surgeon do the botox (mostly because the surgeon was having a botox party). I thought it was cool that my forehead didn't wrinkle for a few months, but other than that, I really don't notice a difference in my lips and my cheek change was minimal. I feel like when I am a little older I would like to go to a good plastic surgeon for a face lift because it has the longest lasting results. I'm also a little cheap and a forehead of botox was $300, a syringe of Voluma, half in each cheek was $800, and a syringe of Juvederm in my lips was I think $500. The botox has to be done every 4 months and usually it is closer to $500 (in my experience) and the Juvederm in the lips is once a year, while Voluma is about every two years. At least with a facelift it's a one time big expense and you aren't having stuff injected into your face a few times a year for the rest of your life.

never saw you, but i know you look terrific

what was her reasoning/explanation ??
