Im considering traveling to Tijuana Mexico, ive searching a good and certified Doctor since 3 months ago, im going for gastric sleeve surgery... But still trying to decide, one of my main options is "Dr. Maytorena", i think the surgery its on a really good price (3,499), which is great, and i saw all the video testimonials on YouTube Channel and everyone seems to be very satisfied with the results... Do you know about another option? Is he a good choice?

I have my sleeve surgery scheduled for Aug 19th. I chose Dr. Henry Mansur in Saltillo, coahuila. He is a wonderful surgeon and have heard nothing but success stories about him. Now, if you have someone that would want to get the surgery too..you all can get together and he gives prices for 2+ people getting surgery same day. You can google him by his name and get any additional info you may need. I highly recommend him. Its 6 of us that got together and scheduled the same day...we got a great deal!!

I chose Dr. Corvalo Lopez at Angeles Hospital. It is a teaching hospital and he trained many of the doctors now people are talking about. That's why I selected him. Very good experience. Very nice hospital. Very nice driver. I had my low BMI sleeve on 4/26 and couldn't be happier with my decision or the medical team I chose.

I'm going to OCC with Dr. Ortiz on July 22nd - all the way from South Florida. I am so nervous, but they have been really great at addressing all of my concerns.

Thank you @@JamieLogical!

Anyone have any advice for how to make the flight home more comfortable?

If you can bring a pillow with you that would certainly help a lot. Holding a pillow against your stomach with light pressure will keep things from moving around especially if the flight is bumpy.

@@LowBMISleever If it's not too late, get an aisle seat. You will want to get up and walk a bit every once in a while and being on the aisle makes that easier.

I didn't think of that @@JamieLogical because I always ask for a window seat. You might've just saved the day for me! Thank you!!

I used Dr Ariel Ortiz for my LapBand in 2010. He is amazing. I have seen him on TV 3 times since my LapBand. On the Doctors, on Oprah and Dateline. I follow him on FB. He has been doing live surgeries for the last month. OCC is amazing with follow up, nutrition and their WLS forum. That being said. I couldn't afford to use him for my sleeve revision last month. He was almost $4000 more than DR Fernando Garcia. I had my sleeve done at CER surgery center. I was very happy with my care and hospital stay. BUT if I had deep pockets I would choose OCC Dr Ortiz. He is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
