Ok! Scheduled for 6/1. I have a whole pre op day scheduled for 5/26. Will meet with Anesthesia, the Surgeon and go to a Group Nutrition class for pre ops. That's a week before the surgery date , so it doesn't seem like I'll have a liquid pre op diet week or two.

I'm scheduled for RNY on June 22. I could really use a buddy!

I am scheduled for RNY 6/30 as long as insurance approves after I finish my 3 month diet. Really need as many mentor/buddies as I can get, very nervous.

Alright, alright! Our June crew is shaping up. Let's keep in touch. I welcome the support as I am doing this alone. I'm divorced. Adult kids live far away. No current Boyfriend. I haven't shared this with anyone and I prefer it that way.

I'm June 7. Revising from lap-band which was removed on March 16. The process has taken well over a year. It feels a little surreal now that it's really getting close.

@@waterwoman, I agree. I started the process in October and June seemed far away. Now that surgery is in 3 weeks, it definitely feels surreal. I have all this nervous energy. Heck, I'm completely redecorating my bedroom. New furniture, linens, paint, carpeting, the works. I feel like I'm nesting!

I worry about weird things, like what if I'm that one person that the surgery doesn't work for or what if I have complications and I can't go back to work as scheduled? I have to work, I'm my sole support. What if all my hair falls out? Gosh, I just need to get this done and be on the other side!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
