Dr. Fass and inverted gastric sleeve

Recommended Posts

:( that is super frustrating! Hopefully your pcp can resolve this. I hope it works out, Fass offoce is hood about submitting and moving things forward quickly (if u prefer) after that.

Interesting. I had seen the adverts for Dr. Kim and his inverted sleeve, but never could find out what made his technique different. If it's just the oversewing of the staple line, my surgeon does that as well. And since she used to teach bariatric surgery, I suspect many of her former students do as well. The 360 video of the procedure by the doc in Mexico also does oversewing of the staple line.

My surgery is already done, and by all indications quite well, but I'm still curious if that's the only difference in the "inverted" sleeve.

I found PsyMed, Inc has a Facebook page, so I messaged them. Also, I accidentally stumbled across the email address of the CEO of PsyMed, Inc.

I hope they reply to my FB message this week, or I may have to email Dwayne . I'd hate to interrupt his Napa Valley visit.

I suppose having a technology background means it might not have been accidental, but whatever...I just want my records.

My records for my psych eval was finally sent to Dr. Fass' office. One more appointment on 9/12 and then it'll be submitted to insurance.

I'm thinking about you! One week from today. Are you doing a pre-op diet? If so, how's it going?

it's your right to get your psych eval done by any provider of your choosing.. They cannot control that

I wasn't opposed to doing it again, but I was going to at least be persistent to TRY to get the one I've already done. Plus, who knows if my insurance would pay for another one. Nonetheless, the new surgeon has it now! Stoked!

Yeah, I think you're right. There isn't any difference from the research I did concerning the inverted technique. Almost all sleeves are done this way now. Just a marketing thingymajig, I guess hehe. I had my sleeve done by Dr. Holden on Sept. 2, 2016, but I remember months ago doing the research on the "inverted" technique.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
