Happy Mother's Day to all of our ladies, and welcome to all the new group members!

I'm on Day #6 of the all-liquid 2-week diet and it's been hard. I haven't been feeling well. On Day #4, I got a terrible headache and nausea. It was better by that evening. I've become very constipated and have had to really hit the Benefiber, Miralax and Smooth Move tea. I know there's not much in me right now compared to eating real food, but I could tell I needed it because I was getting bloated and had that miserable gut feeling. Mostly, I've been very tired. My energy levels are way off. I am making sure to do this diet the best I can. I'm logging everything and making sure I'm hitting my Protein targets and Water. 80g each, or more Water if I can.

How is everyone else feeling on the liquid diet?

Good news: I just broke into One-derland as of today. That makes me very happy! I plan to stay in the Ones for the rest of my life.

I hope you all are having a great day.

My last "normal" day is coming to an end. Just saw Captain America Civil War with the fam and made a stop at Walmart to get my liquid diet staples. I'm so not going to be good at this liquid thing. I'm going to do it and I want to do it but I'm really going to be bad at it. All of you who've done it for a week already and have another to go deserve some kudos. Send me all your tips and tricks! Thanks!

So does everyone have a surgery time yet?? My surgeon doesn't give an exact time....I just know I'm second of the day and have to be at the hospital at 8:00 am........the person first of the list has to be there at 5:00.

In this instance I'd say second place is definitely better! I am definitely not a morning person. My surgery is scheduled for 10am with an arrival time of 7am.

My arrival time is set for 5:30 am and surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am ☺

Day 7 of liquid pre op diet. so far so good. Scared to have a bite of anything not on my list and have not had one bite of anything that I shouldn't. Not weighing myself until surgery day (17th) but I feel like if lost some weight. There have been moments (just moments) where I'd like to have a chunk of chicken or something but the moments pass. I get to have greek yogurt (which in the evening is like manna from heaven). Other than that it's the Protein Shakes, low fat cottage cheese, creamed Soups and lots of liquids. I've been getting in about 110 oz of liquid a day, some days a little more, some a little less. The first 4 days I was only getting about 500-550 calories a day and by day 5 the weakness and irritability was hitting me so I upped the cals that day (I'm allowed 800-1000) and that made a big difference. Feeling great today. Much better. I was at my mother in laws yesterday for Mothers Day and they had tons of food there and I have two little ones that I have to feed so I have had to be around food and deal with it. I am finding that keeping a good mindset is making such a difference. Instead of feeling deprived I'm feeling alive with the excitement over what this all means. I told my kids with confidence that next year around this time were going to Disneyworld (probably more for me than them!). I am so looking forward to being ALIVE for a change. Not that I haven't been alive obviously but there's different ways of being alive and I'm sick of this so called way of life. As a good friend said years ago, everything we do is either life giving or life taking. Every bite of food can be looked at this way too. Being on a liquid pre op diet, getting the surgery, dealing with the difficulties ahead, eating differently are all life giving things. And that sounds like a win-win to me.

Good Luck everyone.

My surgery is May 19th at 11:30am and it is fast approaching. Today begins my 10 day liquid diet. I look forward to reading your progress a few days ahead of me.

I'm focusing on the day to day, while keeping mental images of 6-9-12 months out in my mind. Eye on the Prize!!

This past weekend was to be my "Last Supper" so to speak. I thought that I would go out eating just about everything I knew I couldn't or shouldn't in the future. Oddly when this weekend arrived I just didn't want any crap. I feel like I've been working hard since Feb to drop weight and I just wasn't ready to ruin all that progress.

Cheer to the road ahead

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
