Insurance submission

Recommended Posts

I am getting so frustrated with my Dr's office. I had my last nutrition visit on 4/12. I emailed on Monday to see when my info would be submitted to ins. The reply I got was we can't do it same day due to PA taking 48 hrs to process the report. I understand that, wasn't expecting it done same day. She said they try to do it at the end of the week. I called Aetna today and they have not seen anything from the Dr. It has now been over a week. I emailed again and I feel like I'm pissing the person off but I just want to know when it's being submitted. Is this wrong of me? I know I'm not the only patient there .

Do you have a contact number or does your doctor's office have an insurance coordinator? When my paperwork was ready I admit I did call the insurance coordinator, but she was actually good at submitting my paperwork and submitted it to the insurance company the next day after my last appointment. The waiting game sucks. But I don't think there is anything wrong with you following up. I actually think its good to make sure your file hasn't been pushed to the side or forgotten.

Yes the person I have been emailing is the intake coordinator. I guess I just don't understand why it's taking so long unless I made her mad and she has put me to the side. Out of the entire 6 months I have only emailed twice so it's not like I do it every week. Thanks for your reply. I will give them a call

I called the office, to see if I was sent in for approval. I told her I had emailed her and she said yes I know, I am really busy and can't answer everybody. I was then told I was miss informed by the previous intake coordinator and I have one more visit in May which will be my 6th visit and then she can send to insurance.

Be persistent when they are ready to submit. You are the patient. My original surgeons office had all of my information for 5 1/2 months and never submitted it even though they told me they had. When they finally did I got an approval in 2 days. I had them void the authorization and I switched surgeons. They submitted immediately and I had my approval in 3 days. I could have already had surgery and been healing but everything happens for a reason I suppose.

I just hope I haven't pissed her off so that she would hold me up on purpose. Thanks B_D. I'm glad you switched and got yours taking care of.

I'm working with Dartmouth in we had to sigh a letter to get along with the staff or we are out of the program. My paperwork all went in. Supposed to take 2 weeks. 2 weeks and a call the following Monday. They wanted a few labs, mammogram and b&d blood work and my band info from a different hospital. I had them taken care of and double checked that tues (with my dr office and band hospital). I needed paperwork from them I need to send back. Been a week. Nothing. My Dr disliked them to the point he wasted a month. Now I understand why. It feels like the lady that runs the program is a b..ch cuz she can be. Sigh

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
