A bit sore with gas but so glad to be home and have this journey finally started. These gas pains are not fun. Seem to be tolerating Water and shakes well. Gonna take my meds and go to sleep for awhile. Hope all is going well for all my surgery buddies!

I had a band as well.... my doctor removed it back in March, and my sleeve date will be 8/19...

Congratulations!!! My Surgery date is August 8th. I also have a band, but my surgeon is doing an all in one band out sleeve in!

Became the luckiest person ever and had my surgery moved up from Aug. 15 to this past Thurs, Aug. 4. Only one day of liquid pre-op diet vs. 2 weeks of it (but I did diet and lose 20 lbs over past two months). Surgery went exceptionally well, and went under at boo and was discharged same day right after 6 pm with little pain and no narcotic pain meds. I had three procedures done at the same time: lap-band removal, hiatal hernia repair, and sleeve. I'm on third day post-op and I can finally sleep comfortably on my side and feel hardly any soreness from incision sites. Challenge is getting required fluids (only getting 30-40 oz per day) and Protein (only getting around 30g per day). I've dropped 3 pounds so far and will probably lose more once the extra Fluid from surgery is gone. I'm so excited for the future and so far don't regret my sleeve at all!

Hello AUGUST SLEEVERS!!! Just sleeved on August 4th... Last Thursday ! Days 1 & 2 is no joke but everyday since is better and better. My biggest recommendation is to set and alarm and get up and walk every 2 hours....I did laps in my house ... This is to get rid of the gas they blow ya up with to do the surgery and it is your biggest culprit to feeling better quicker and eliminating pain! Take it from this old nurse ... this will be one of the biggest gifts you'll ever give yourself. 6th day and I feel great... Feel free to ask any questions and GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY JOURNEY!!!

Hi There,

I was sleeved on August 3rd 2016. I'm just over a week out, and I've lost 9lbs. The full liquid stage is going well, except I am getting really sick of Protein powder. It's trial and error as to how much you can add when you're not making a smoothie... I've ruined a few sugar free puddings and a Soup.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
