Any.... Green leafy vegetables ( even though I love them). I got intestinal distressed before surgery but ate it anyway.... I really loved salads. Now I understand we have to part ways. I really miss salad but cannot risk it

My NP told me to just eat the toppings. Chopped carrots, cukes, onions, bacon, cheese, Tomato, seeds, etc. Add a little dressing and skip the filler leafy crap. Yum.

I can imagine the look on their face when I order my favorite salad..without the lettuce..so doing this!!

I haven't sworn it off yet, but roast beef has been a problem. I will likely try it again at some point, but I dumped or nearly dumped each time I tried it and it was miserable. Most everything else as long as I eat slow and with Condiments is fine.

How long ago as your surgery and what did you have done? (Sleeve, RNY ??)

I'm planning to give eggs one more shot in maybe six months (one year after surgery). If they don't work out, we're done for good.

Kale has been a no go from the very beginning...it gives me violent gag reflexes and makes me hungrier than before. The hell with that as a salad resource...I'll be sticking with mesclun. Steaks and Pasta (in reasonable quantities) have worked since about the 4 month point, which is interesting because that's what people most frequently say they can't do (and that's probably a good thing). Anything with heavy cream gives me a much faster food coma than before, and anything sweet has pretty much the same effect, regardless of calorie count, though I haven't experienced actual problems with anything.

From the beginning, I could only tolerate really really really soft scrambled eggs. So soft, they were almost runny and I added a lot of butter and cheese.

I can now tolerate quiche and fritattas, I can eat a soft boiled egg but can only tolerate about half the white. Same with fried eggs.

The harder cooked the egg, the less I can eat, unless I add a lot of mayo or sauce.

I can't do bread. I get a stuck feeling and it's terrible.

I used to love hot dogs and liverwurst....no more. Dogs get stuck, and liverwurst just tastes nasty now. I have no clue why, I used to eat it all the time, since I was a kid. I'll give it another try again now that I am almost a year out from surgery.

I can't do raw veggies, they go right through me. I'm reduced to pretty much mushy cooked vegetables and/or veggies, in Soups.

eggs, not loving too much anymore. I used to eat them all the time. Hard boiled are the easiest for me, now.

I'm so glad I can do cottage cheese, or I would be screwed! lol

You were sleeved two years ago? Make an appointment now!

Ask if you should try anything while you wait.

I suspect acid, so start with a good ppi or switch if yours stopped working. I used dgl licorice from the health food store to help. I lost my appetite and too much weight a few years post sleeve - but I recovered. Don't linger, get healthy.

No steak or chicken breast has worked for me. Kale is apparently a no go also.

Pasta has also never stayed with me. Says the Italian girl.... Spaghetti squash is substituted.

Fish seems to be my friend

Lately.... Better than beef (target) seems to fill in for some items and my band has ok'd it....

I learn and just go on. food just doesn't have that ugly hard grasp on me after all these years. Thankfully [emoji93]

Pork loin. Have tried twice and thrown up both times. But I haven't eaten any Pasta or rice or bread or anything sweet.

Fried chicken [emoji55], I tried to eat a chicken wing, the flat piece and my body said this is a no go. I felt like something was literally sitting on my chest and in my throat, Iwanted to puke. I guess we live and we learn - trial and error, and this definitely was an error

anything fried for me- creates intestinal upheaval. High fat foods too, I still can't eat bacon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
