No required weight loss for my insurance, but I was also given a six month dietician requirement.

I'm another one who is glad about the six months. I've learned so much and have had time to practice new methods and habits.

I am almost finished with my 3rd of 6 month diet, it has been moving fast, I am losing about 4 pounds a month. feeling pretty good, I am finally getting used to eating at least 5 times a day! But I guess that is the norm after the surgery! Good Luck in the future!

I'm half way through insurance required to see dietitian, don't need to lose any weight. Also I have to pay for the visits.

I'm excited. I'll probably wont be nervous until a couple days before.

I don't have a 6 month supervised requirement through my insurance. I just need to do the psych eval and nutrition eval. Then everything gets submitted for approval with insurance. Once approved, then I do the blood work and ekg and other tests needed for the doctor. I have BCBS of MA. They are great!

That is really quick and a lot less tests. Even though when I started I thought 6 months would never get here it really is going by fast.

I am on a 6 Month supervised diet to qualify for my surgery. Already have done a few support groups and 2 dietician visits. One more dietician visit then 2 with my primary provider, plus my psych eval and finally can meet with a surgeon!

I have United for insurance and when they first told me six months, I was discouraged but it's passing very quickly! I'm on target to meet with my surgeon in August.

I have to drop 8 pounds to qualify to move forward as a requirement as well.

Anyone else looking at a similar timeline or better yet, in Maine?

I am also a little more then halfway through as I have my fourth appointment in 12 days -I literally have a countdown app on my phone lol- when I found out about the 6 month diet I was so upset i figured I can do it myself in the time so I didn't even start. I wish I started sooner cause I'd probably be getting my surgery already. It is going by super quick though :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
