Doctor wants to make sure lap band not attached to stomach, anyone had this?

I had lap band surgery 9 years ago, went in for a visit because my band was a little tight. Doctor said he wanted me to check to make sure the lap band was not attached to my stomach. Not to sure about this, has anyone ever heard of this happening or it is a money issue for the doctor.
