Recommended Posts

I had mine the 28th.. I am feeling better, I just got off Clear Liquids today so I'm happy to give up broth and jello! however, now that I added Protein shakes, It's been more difficult to get in my Water. my big incision hurts more than the others.also, I've lost about 10 lbs which is very encouraging!

I was sleeved on the 28th and the first 4 days were very rough! Some spasms and nausea. Day 5 I felt like "me" again, it was great. Started pureed stage yesterday and some refried Beans are amazing with some pureed guacamole. It's amazing how full you feel after only a few bites and I do realize that's the point of the surgery, but I never thought I'd feel full prior to surgery. Seems like your morning Vitamins and supplements are a meal in and of themselves, There's a lot of time consumed and planning to get everything in at this stage, but so far so good. I was fairly active prior to surgery walking constantly at work so I think I may have benefitted me well

. I do feel bad for those who are still struggling. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you're well on your way soon.

It will take the body a little to bounce back after a major surgery for sure. Moving builds up stamina and staying hydrated is a must. One day at a time will get us there!

Anybody sleeved the 28th sterile strips starting to look like they will be falling off soon?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Nope, sticking like glue. I'm getting tired of them! I just want to rip them all off. But I wont. Not til I see my md.

I had glue instead of strips and it is coming off. Completely off on a couple of incisions but they are healed so it is okay. Still don't see my surgeon until next Tues and I am supposed to stay on full liquids (not even yogurt) until then. I will be slow glad to be able to add a bit more texture. I really feel like I am already ready but I won't take chances and will wait for the doc's okay. Feeling good overall though and down 25lbs since my first consult so happy about that!

I was sleeved on the 28th and I'm also still on clear/full liquids - my doc said 2 weeks liquids (first clear, then moved to full), 2 weeks mushy food then I can start on real whole food. I have no problem with that because I cant even get my 64 oz down! I found that coconut Water, and V8 vegetable juice are a godsend. One of the only things I can drink without consequence - well those and chicken broth. My plan is to start mushy food next week, things like blended cottage cheese, and blended Soups. I'm excited but nervous because even when I drink too fast, it hurts. My large incision is also a bit irritated but hoping this goes away soon. I was back to work Monday, and almost starting to feel like myself again, just a bit lightheaded at times due to lack of energy/protein, but I will get there in due time. Down 22 pounds as well! Glad most of you are doing well and most importantly happy! I sure am =)

I was sleeved on 28th too! Doc started me on puree yesterday for 3 weeks. It's been easier than I thought other then trying to make sure I have enough Protein in my new pureed foods. My stitches are healing and the glue is coming off. It's getting so much easier to drink larger sips and I so glad. It does take me 20 min to eat my 4oz. What a nice change. Good luck everyone

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
