Who else got sleeved on the 28th of march?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery 3/28/16 and have lost 31 lbs... but I've been at the same weight for the last 4 days. I know everyone says during week 3 you hit a stall, but it's still disheartening when all I have been on full liquids for three weeks.

Omg..same date, same issue and I'm feeling tired again

Same here!!! It's almost the end of week 3 and I've lost 22 pounds and stalled hard. Don't get discouraged!!! I've been really down over that too- and I'm just staying positive that you'll body will catch up with your weight loss and you'll start losing again. I'm just patiently waiting!

For those of you that got sleeved on the 28th and stalled, don't worry! After being down and depressed and asking myself why? What am I doing wrong?! The answer is nothing! Just let your body catch up. I just broke mine after a week and a half! Stay positive!! :)

My surgeon said I can have coffee the third day post op so I did and feeling great in the morning, it was the ONLY liquid I have no complains with what so ever ;)

They told me I could have Decaf right away, but never mentioned regular caffeine. I'm having awful coffee cravings, and decaf isn't cutting it. Lol.

Yay I'm happy for you! I weighed myself this morning and again no loss, 5th day in a row :( it's so frustrating seeing the same number, down to the ounce!! I'm trying to not get discouraged but it's hard.

I'm onto soft foods starting today and after 3 tablespoons of hummus, I was full. I'm still drinking one bottle of Isopure a day to get my 40g of Protein. I love these juices because it's different from the shakes. It has 40g of protein per 20oz bottle. No sugar, no carbs. Only 160 calories. Only drawback is it gives tour mouth that dry feeling due to the protein. So, for those having issues with getting their protein in, try this.

Where do you get the isopure drinks?

Supplement store. We have a place called Vitamin Shoppe and that's where I buy it. It's about $4.60 for a 20oz bottle.

I have been stalled for ten days too. I don't weigh everyday, but it's not moving. I did weigh myself the other day and it was up three pounds, but I think it was a night time way because my the morning it was normal again and has stayed at that same 246.5. Getting enough fluids, Protein, exercising.

It's a head game for sure.

I just keep repeating to myself, 500 high protein calories in, 400 burned through at the gym...fat has to be coming off somewhere even if the scale doesn't agree.

Sleeved on 28th too. I have been frustrated with my 10 day stall as well. Dietician said it's because my body is healing right now and the weight will come off. Just think months from now. Trying to stay positive! Inches have came off. Some clothes fit better. Persevere....

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
