Surgery Roux-en-y Surgery April 4!

Recommended Posts

Every surgeon has different standards and it is based on weight as well as a bunch 0f other things I have seen some who don't have to do any preop liquid diet and others up go 4 weeks on here

Some people need to do a 6 month diet and loose before surgery is even considered

I'm actually feeling pretty good physically today (day 5, also)! My headache is almost completely gone and the hunger only kicks in right before it's time for my next 'meal,' but I'm definitely starting to notice some of the emotional effects! I almost burst out crying today at work for literally no reason -- I'm actually in a good mood! I've always been super sensitive to my hormones, I'm on my period this week, AND I've lost 14lbs since Sunday. I'm trying to be nice to myself; my body's been through a lot already!

It's so nice to be able to just vent this stuff to be people who understand, though. My coworkers and friends are just like, "I couldn't do it!" and that's not helpful.... >_<

Yea I know exactly what you mean lol one day at a time. I dealt with it in a public family dinner last night where everyone was munching on bread and chili I was sipping my shake and they seem to be sensitive but they don't get it I love this app for this

Hello all so nice to hear I'm not alone on the preop diet. I'm on day 5 of 14. Surgery is 3/28. Down 12 pounds in 5 days on preop liquid diet, I swear that is what is motivating me right now and keeping me from eating, I could so go for eggs or a grilled chicken breast right now, lol. At least I'm craving good Protein I guess.

I'm only taking a week because I am self employed so no work means no pay but I am prepared to cancel some of my work if I'm not up to it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
