Hello All,

I found your forum a day before my 2 week pre-opt diet started. I will be sleeved tomorrow! Help me get through this last day on Clear liquids. The greedy girl in me smells everything people are eating, it is so intense I feel angry. My 2 week pre-op diet has been about 85% accurate. Ive felt like i was on death row, so i nibbled a few items as if it was last meal. But my nerves have not gotten to me yet because I have been reading your post and they have comforted me. My fam will be staying in a nearby hotel, so packing the kids uniforms, gaming devices, clean and organizing have kept me busy slong with my faith. My hubby is not the best nursing type and he is nervous. Thank you for secretly helping through the journey. Super ready to be on the other side. Only told 4 family members and 3 friends. But I work out 5 days a week and have already lost 20 lbs so no one should be super shocked once I return to work in 3 weeks. Peace and blessings!

Glad you have found comfort in these forums. They were an invaluable resource to me through my pre and post-op journey. I am so grateful for them and all of the people who participate and contribute. Please feel free to post any questions or concerns you have. Also feel free just to come here and vent and rage at the world, because we have all been there. The pre-op diet is no fun and the first couple of weeks post-op can be very trying. So if you need to come here for a shoulder to cry on, don't hesitate!

Thanks for your comments. I made it to the other side. Not regretting a thing, just not liking to even swallow. Almost every sip feels crampy except sf popsicle and warm broth. I can't hit that Water or Protein levels bcuz of the discomfort. I started the process over a year ago at 208! Pre-op appt weighed 195 an d Surgery day I was 180. Nurses would come and say you are small, why didn't you do this on your own? I may have been small er than more Than a few here, but no matter what size, feeling fat, using every resource and tool you can to remove the weight and to feel better about your self and self image with small.temp successes is tiring! Sure I got sad more than enough times looking at pics and it almost seed like someone was always talking pics while I was eating. I've never been the smallest girl in the group. dammit I wanted to be healthy! Feel comfortable meeting people and not someone looking at me saying she be cute if she just lost some weight. Being overweight has no class level, no income level, no discrimination what so ever! It is just a daily condition we must deal with and ultimately it affects you inside and out. I support ppl to do whatever their heart desires to make them feel good about who they are. For all those who are days or weeks away...your new you is waiting on you embrace the journey, follow dr. Directions, take things slow and you will be rewarded. You don't stand alone. Everyone's journey is different, but want we share is the desire to be treated for the person we really are, not our waist size or the size of our butts. I encourage you just as others here have encouraged me!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
