This drinking 16-32 ounces of Water, 20 ounces of broth, and the rest sf popsicles and Jello is really working! I got 70 ounces in yesterday & 66 ounces in today.

I'm trying to get most of it in as Water. I go back to work in a few days and I'll only have water there. Yesterday I did just over 50 ounces. Man this is hard

The water for me is the hardest unless I add lemon why I get annoyed at is when k was just on liquids like broth and Jello and Popsicle I was losing faster then again it couple be from all of the iv. Now ever since J started Protein shakes I gained 4 lbs ugh has that happen to anyone ?

How is everyone doing? I finally broke the short stall I was in and dropped 2lbs.

I went back to work today but then my office asked for a work release. When I called the doctor to get it I was told that I wasn't supposed to go back until 3 weeks. So I left and am back home until next monday.

Hey All,

How is everyone? Just checking in. I've had a good and rough couple of days. I had to go to have a Cat Scan (related to my hysterectomy), and I had to drink a big container of dye so they could see. I got home and I have had horrible diahrria (like water)....sorry if it's TMI. This was Friday, and it's still going on. So, I'm trying to figure out if its's from that, or sugar free stuff (in the past it gave me Gastro problems, gas etc, or is it because I'm just drinking fluids. Anyways, have any of you had this issue?

I'm still on Clear liquids hopefully until Thursday (I have a Post Op exam). I am hungry, and really tired of liquids. I miss food A LOT. I drove by some of my favorite spots, and I had to pray...because I wished I could eat that stuff again. I haven't been advanced to Protein yet (probably will be on Thursday). What Protein shakes do you all like?

The good news is I'm down 15.8 lbs! I am thrilled about that. My bra is loser, and I tried on 3 outfits in my closet and I could fit them! I even was able to wear a couple of 1X or X-Large items. That part is great! My husband is noticing every day, and he started calling me Skinny today. We are both happy that the weight is coming off.

Also, do you all take a PPI. I take Zantac twice a day, and I still get this gnawing feeling at night. Some have suggested I change it if I'm feeling hungry, because it might be acid.

Sounds like you've had it a bit rough bluesky. I'm on day one of puree today and I am LOVING it! Lol. I had puréed meatballs ( lots of the sauce) and I think I could be happy eating that for the next 2 weeks hope things get better soon.

I am on a PPI too. I forget to take it sometimes. I'm not hungry really, but I slowly progressed myself to purees and some soft foods over the weekend.

sugar free stuff made with a sugar alcohol called sorbitol can have laxative effects. Sorbitol is actually what makes prune juice so effective because it has very high levels of sorbitol in it.

I like Isopure, but it's not very sweet. I have to be very careful with the protien shakes because I'm lactose intolerant so I have to make sure it's a protien isolate. Otherwise it'll make me very sick. So I'm probably not the best for advice on those :) im down 14lbs now. I went about 3 days without losing. But I'm back to dripping weight again.

My other half noticed I was losing weight about a week ago (he's very detail oriented) and it's actually freaking him out. He said the only people he knows who dropped weight so quickly was very sick and died. Even though he logically knows it's not that, he still gets weirded out about it.

Yeah sometimes acid pains can mimic hunger pain. You're probably feeling weak and tired because you haven't had much calories. Thats probably going to change once you get progressed to the next stage at your next doctors appointment.

Kinda. Things blenderized to just a little thicker than baby food texture. Mashed potatoes, refried Beans. That kinda thing. They said I could have soft scrambled eggs but ugh. I never have had indigestion and this was bad lol

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
