Yoga and band: any danger of slippage?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I really want to get into doing power yoga and I just took my first class. I really loved it, but I was wondering if there's any chance any of the poses or stretches could slip the band? They say it can shift your internal organs, so wouldn't this also increase risk of band slippage?

I would be terribly unhappy if I found out I couldn't do it, as I have finally found an exercise that I like!

Thanks for asking this question. Prior to my surgery I had practiced yoga for a year and a half and I really miss it. I am only three weeks post surg so obviously I have refained. I plan to talk with my surgeon at the six week fill visit and get his opinion. Yoga is fairly gentle-even when doing vinyasas (sp?) it is about flow and not about Jerky sudden movements. As all yogis know you have to be humble and realize your limits by listening to your body-I think this is even more important in our situation. Let me know if you learn anything more. Hope you get to enjoy yoga because it helps in so many ways.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
