Congrats everyone. Keep it up. I'm a 12/2016 sleever. Was a 22 & 2x/3x. I can wear a 16 now. But I too am still working on the mental adjustment. Everyone comments on how my face looks so different but I don't see it in my body. I'm glad at the progress but my mind hasn't caught up with the body and the number (pounds lost) . Weird. Lol. Will give it time.

I started at a 24/26 and I am currently at a 14/16 I'm very happy that I see the change in clothes size but I have a problem and still see a 300 lbs girl when I look in the mirror I have not adjusted to the way I look yet.SMH

What type of diet/food plan did you use after surgery to help with weight loss?

updated...Still a work in progress here as well. Started at 32/34 and those were TIGHT before surgery Nov 9th and as of right now(May 10th) I'm 20/22 on bottom and 18/20 on top and could and should go buy some smaller ones real soon.

I was size 24 at 256 pounds. Had bypass two years ago 4/2/14.

Now I am size 4 at 138 pounds. Best money I ever spent on myself!

I'm almost 1 year out of surgery and I went from a 26 to a small (top) and 8 (pants and dresses).

I'm still hoping to lose about 20 lbs and go down to a 4 size for pants and dresses.

The picture attached was taken this past February at 173 lbs and 9 months out of surgery. I went back to Texas for a vacation and posed in the exact same spot I posed for a picture at my highest weight (345 lbs) years ago.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
