Anyone had cosmetic pre-op band?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have a question. I apologize if this has been answered, I just haven't seen it. Back in 1998 I lost over 70 lbs. on the Atkins Diet. Of course I was convinced I would never gain it back and I ended up having a fall Tummy Tuck, breast lift and Lipo done on my inner thighs.

Well here I am now nearly 30 lbs heavier than my highest weight then. The good thing about my cosmetic stuff is my boobs stayed pretty alert til the last baby, now they need doing again, and my tummy tuck managed to keep me from really gaining much weight in that area. Now instead of looking pregs with quads, I kinda have the 5 month look going...def puffy but only at the very bottom where my c-section scar is. I don't see where the lipo on ther thighs EVER made a diff but hey....who knew.

Of course now I wish I had spent the 11k then on getting a lapband so I wouldnt be doing it now. Oh well.

Question is, has this happened to anyone else and how did/does it effect your loss and will you need yet another tuck later?

Thanks!

Hey Voodookitty,

Well, it looks like 1998 was OUR year. I too lost alot of weight, about 75 lbs to be exact. And knew that I would never ever be up to 205 again. Well, I was kinda right, I didn't go back to 205, I quickly shot by that number and ended up around 242. But anyway, in 98 I had a thigh lift with Lipo. And after gaining all the weight back plus more, I believe that if I don't start some kind of strenuous exercise & walking program, that when (Hopefully when) I lose this weight again, I will have to have more surgery. My lap band was done on 6-19-07, and since surgery, I have only lost around 20 lbs. I have always had a big old butt and thunder thighs, well except for that brief moment in 98. Anyway, good luck to you.

Tammie

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
